Guest gunk Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Paul, any chance of getting an English (Australia) locale built in on the next release? Also, the HTC boot screen is booooooring. I quite like the one that comes with the leedroid release and has really nice androidy boot sound.
Guest iXX Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Changelog r7 WIP 09:45 06/AugAPN error fix (you probably haven't noticed this) :)Option to disable 802.11N in the kitchenOption to disable vibrate-on-power-off in the kitchenFacebook 1.3.1Additional fixes discussed in topicCompletely r ebased on official Froyo release (2.09.405.8)r6 WIP 12:00 23/Jul [*]Now includes standard Android contacts app as an option [*]Additional Trackball Wake option (now has a dedicated group in the kitchen) [*]Changes to Rosie to allow compatability with HTC provided widgets (hopefully) I just did an upgrade from r6 to r7 and after flashing and rebooting my phone, it got stuck at the HTC quiety brilliant screen so I ended up wiping the phone and reflashing. All a.o.k. now - I made a full backup with Titanium, now restoring... (when i rooted I just wiped everything and started fresh, so this is my first backup/restore) Now i have a few questions - I was assuming Titanium was a 100% restore, so everything could be restored to like it was before the wipe, but having restored everything i can, it looks like i've got a few hours work to get the desire back to how i set it up before the wipe. Several apps are missing, like ewallet, QIK, QYPE and i need to set up email accounts and arrange 4 pages of icons in sense again - grr Is this supposed to happen ? Sorry for noob questions. oh and thanks for another outstanding release from the kitchen. very happy with r7 so far. Not that its needed on the desire (fast enough etc), but is it possible to add support for say a 1.1GHz overclock via SetCPU in the next release please ? iXX
Guest EroThraX Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 (edited) Getting a lot of Package ... has no signatures that match those in shared user ignoring! errors during boot loops. Same errors here, a lot of "signature mismatched for shared user" and Unknown permissions. Tried 3 different times now, no luck, just get's stuck in a boot loop. Could really do with an odexed kitchen. :) Edited August 7, 2010 by EroThraX

Guest eugenea Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Last post for today: .. or the observations of a whining poster! :P r7 is a peach of a ROM, nice and stable :D circle battery mods can be a pit of a pig :D APNs can disappear like little butterflies :D this one works & has no funny colours: framework_res_HTC_2.2_signed.zip :) beer makes my posts full of funny colours .. hic! :P edit: But seriously; if anyone could work up a framework with supercircle 'version C' I would be very greatful, the icons are beautiful Strange, but any circle battery mods (including the above) kills my APN. Are there more versions - which are tested and do not touch the APN? To restore using method developed during R5 (с) Klutsh... load up clockwork or whatever recovery you use mount the /system partition then push xml to /system/etc #adb push apns-conf.xml /system/etc/ #sync [/codebox] reboot phone goto settings > wireless & networks > mobile networks > access point names press menu and then restore defaults. (©klutsh) may be help for someone.apns_conf__1_.zip
Guest soupbones Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 I get forced close of htc_ime mod, even after reseting all permissions to super user permissions and rebooting. htc_ime mod will not work at all. Any ideas? Sorry if this has been brought up...
Guest rameses Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Paul, The Disable Vibrate On Shutdown option works as it should for me. :)
Guest gianton Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Anyone knows how to edit sense in order to have less screens than 7?
Guest Anamnesia Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 (edited) I baked a few r7 ROM's today... The first one installed, but none of my widgets/icons appeared on any of the screens, with a low memory warning. I re-baked another ROM (due to me incorrectly choosing some of the options) & reloaded. Widgets/icons returned, but still the low memory warning. I was killing apps from the list & moving apps to SD, but it wasn't helping. The system memory displayed ~8Mb. For some reason I decided to drag an icon/widget from it's location & saw a duplicate sitting underneath. I then realised that each of the widgets/icons had a duplicate sitting on top of the original... I went through & deleted every duplicate widget/icon from each of the 7 screens, then the low memory warning disappeared. The system memory now displayed ~24Mb. Has anyone else seen this? Apart from this dual widget/icon memory glitch, r7 seems to work fine for me. I was experiencing slow data transfer speeds with SwiFTP with the screen locked. (My previous r6 ROM had BlueTooth connection problems) Edited August 7, 2010 by Anamnesia

Guest Asselberghs Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 hi guys, can i have a cooked ROM based on r7 with all the features enabled for download please???? kindly someone bake it & upload the link for me here.... i wanna try this ROM.... Cooked roms are for personal use and not to be shared, sry m8, but I can really recommend buying a subscription to MoDaCo:) The way you can costumize the roms, and the fast access you get is awsome:) I am just waiting for the rom to leave WIP mode and then I am off to bake my phone a nice new rom, looking forward to it:) Even though I am running r5 with no problem´s at the moment, it´s stable good and no errors, but I like the thought that the r7 rom is based off of the Official Android 2.2 update (by Htc) and I´d just like it to be the "official" "done" version. And then I´m also looking forward to click Nexus One bootloader on, since I can´t "mod it on" the device like I could under 2.1 for some reason. Going to be awsome:) Once again I´d recommend just to upgrade to paid, it´s not that much if you look at what you get m8, and over how long a period of time, then the cost, if seen as spread out day by day for an entire year is nothing.

Will there be a kitchen for new versions of Android even if they are not released by HTC for the Desire, like with Android 3.0?

No idea good question:) You can wait for him to answer you here or you can send paul a tweet his address (as also posted on his profile) is @paulobrien. My personal guess is there will be costum roms available for the Desire until such point when the Android OS comes to demand so much of the phone that the Desire hardware can no longer keep up with it. And by that time it might also either be time to stick with what you´ve got or if you got the cash, which will be what I choose I guess, to upgrade to a more powerful Android device, I´ll properbly just go for the, at that point, strongest HTC Android device that is on the market as a new release.

Guest da900 Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 (edited) Hi, Paul. Your ROM is very great. I like it. But i have one bug. I'm using stock keyboard with 2 languages (english and russian). In english keyboard all is fine, but in russian when i press "SPACE" it writes "!", and when i pres "ENTER" it writes "Э". How to fix it? Edited August 7, 2010 by da900

Guest Spellcaster Lukian Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 (edited) Installing circle battery mod causes r7 to reboot loop (when wifi or 3g connects). This issue occurs with both: framework-res-signed.zip and framework_res_HTC_2.2_signed.zip from earlier in this thread. Edited August 7, 2010 by Spellcaster Lukian
Guest ZiCoN Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Still massive battery drainage, even with the 1.3.1 facebook apk...

Guest michaffm1964 Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Dos You restore with Titanium backup? This double widget problem has nothing to do with the Rom and happens to me each time i restored with Titanium on every Rom I baked a few r7 ROM's today... I re-baked another ROM (due to me incorrectly choosing some of the options) & reloaded. Widgets/icons returned, but still the low memory warning. Guest LouiS22 Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 (edited) C'mon guys, please read the whole topic... A lot of questions has been answered in the past. Just use the search button... And please, if you have a problem with X app, do a nandroid backup with your current settings, then do a full wipe, forget Titanium Backup to that time... After booting you'll have a fresh OS, and can install the app from market to see if it's ok. If not, you can still backup from the nandroid backup. Edited August 7, 2010 by LouiS22
