Guest dkodr Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 (edited) @Paul, I see you managed to fix the errors mentioned by me (quoted below), but now the bottom border of the tabs gets too thick. I'd really appreciate it if you could look into it. Cheers! -- edit -- No, wait! Scratch that! :] The above was caused by flashing custom notification icons (Smooth Sense Icons, to be exact). Reflashed MCR r7 and those two mentioned by me earlier unfortunately still apply ;] -- /edit -- @Paul, I found two graphical glitches which weren't present in your previous builds:Active tabs in applications are strangely dark, which makes the text hard to readAfter selecting an app from the "Recent apps" panel, the icons disappear leaving only application names P.S. Took me quite a while to take the second one ;-) Edited August 7, 2010 by dkodr
Guest Albert Poon Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Sorry if I am being noob, but I am new here.. May I know if I flash this will I get native chinese support? This includes: 1: Read chinese sms 2: Type chinese sms 3: Use chinese applications/games Sorry if I asked a question that is too simple, but this is important to me as I am a Malaysian, using Chinese quite frequently, so it is important to me. Thanks a lot. Stock IME includes Trad/Simp Chinese input support (no handwriting tho). You need HTC_CIME for handwriting.
Guest caipi123 Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 (edited) i installed r7 over r2 and now the phone is in a reboot loop (did no wipe before flash, because i didn't want to reinstall everything) any idea? (i did a nandroid backup before and saved everything with titanium backup) wiping the cache did not help, it reboots after the "htc quietly brialliant"-bootscreen thanks! Guest Sabbermann Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 r7 works fine for me except I can't download additional HTC widgets. But another question: Is it normal, that Apps restart by themselves? For example Andnav2, maps, mortplayer music and the market appear in the task manager all the time. I kill them and they reappear after less than one hour, sometimes in seconds. No widgets are causing this.

Tasks constantly end up restarting and then being shut down again, if you just leave idle processes alone they are fine and don't use any resources. Edited August 7, 2010 by EroThraX
Guest caipi123 Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 then u need to do a wipe... The golden rule is.. If it fails after flash with no wipe, do a wipe... ok thx, that worked... hoped to get around of restoring the titanium backup, but was no problem

I use Startup Manager free from the Market, I disable Maps, Music, FM Radio etc from starting; in the system section of that App. I also get rid of lots of un-necessaries in the user section .. give it a try, but obviously be careful :) Edited August 7, 2010 by FatherD

Startup manager seems to be a luck thing for me.
Guest reudyfam Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Quick one hopefully. I'm currently running r7 with a2sd, if I was to bake again with a2sd+ and just flashed over my current ROM, would this cause any dramas? Assistance much appreciated guys.

Guest Arty Marty Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 I have this too, seems to be something to do with syncing for me as the sync icon comes up after the acore error well its goo a few people are getting the "The Process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again " error, so its not just me... :) I had my phone in sleep mode over night on charge, and on waking it this morning it had that error so it could well be a sync error. One thing is that I didn't notice it the first time I used this ROM, and I had flashed it using the unrevoked loader... I started noticing it when I changed to the Amon-RA recovery and flashed it with that... may I ask what you used to flash it with? its a long shot and unlikely that its the Amon-RA recovery but just trying to eliminnate the variables here... It could have worked the first time because I was only testing and stuffing around and I don't think I set up my facebook/twitter/etc syncs... so if you are using "unrevoked" loader to flash it and still getting the "The Process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly" error, then its looking very much like the sync....causing it... Hope that makes sense, and we can solve this issue, as its the only concern otherwise the rom is frikin amazing!! Warmly, Marty

I'm trying the startup manager now. After the first reboot, most disabled apps didn't start, maps did. So, it is a start. I hope, the other apps won't start later... @vulpix: autostart works with scripts, no? So, nothing for me. however, thanks for the idea.

I think Startup Manager is a bit simpler to understand, but they get around a 4 star rating, so both have a good chance of working :)

Warmly, Marty actually I think I have a fix for this issue, if you are having this problem, can you just let me know if ou have a google calander that you share with someone else, or share yours with someone else? Also, if you do a reflash, as soon as you start your phone, do you have a person in your contacts list BEFORE you have restored your contacts (either you or someone else?) Will get back to you later- just need to test a few things... Marty
Guest twe Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Right moved to this rom, will check it out. Initial problem I see is that I only have a signal icon but it doesn't say how it is connected, i.e. H for HDSPA, G for 3G, etc... [Check dkodr's screenshot it's the same problem or he is only getting a 2g signal there]...

I reflashed a new bake today, without a wipe, (excluded more; news, rss, peep, stocks, friend stream and possibly more, added 3d gallery) and haven't seen the error yet. But I am now getting sync issues. Sync icon permanently in the bar, due to errors syncing the accounts. Isn't any one in particular though; was a google account, rebooted then it was facebook, rebooted and now it's twitter..

If you aren't connected to one then you should check your APN's.
Guest Gaspedal Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) @Paul: thanks for your great Roms. Can you please add an option to symlink system/customize/resource/bootanimation.zip to data/local/ folder ? That would be great. I did it self by adb but this is hard job for some users (and me every time). :) Edited August 8, 2010 by Gaspedal
Guest LionBit Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 I love Paul“s ROMs but since r5 (?) i see only numbers instead of weekdays. Only in SenseApps is all fine, in market apps is this not ok. The settings menu for languages is... little confused :) see screenshots:
Guest tillmar Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Everything works fine. But I sometimes get double widgets, so if I move the clock-widget there will be a clock under it?
