Guest LouiS22 Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) In this case the same problem should appear by all official 2.2 users - inclusive non-rooted users. Is that true? Yes. Root has nothing to do with this problem. However, you don't want to get up or what? :) Edited August 8, 2010 by LouiS22
Guest LouiS22 Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 mr. wise guy, who the hell said that its Paul's fault? and who the hell talked about the picture quality? we are talking about our choppy recorded videos, which is a bug. just open up youtube.com and search for desire 720p videos, then let me show the videos recorded with my desire. the videos on youtube looks ok compared to my videos (tbh, a few of them cant played back, even on my pc) get off the high horse. Sorry for the non English reply. This phone is not for video. The sensor is tiny, and it's not capable of proper (25 fps) recording in 720p. Maybe a complete rewrite of the kernel code could help to achieve a few more fps, but that's all.
Guest Pelly1982 Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Just out of interest, what is "Amazon MP3" and "JBED Java"? I can't see those ones in the Google Market? Cheers
Guest ronilse Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Just out of interest, what is "Amazon MP3" and "JBED Java"? I can't see those ones in the Google Market? Cheers Hi, Neither can i so would be nice to know :) Regards Roy
Guest twe Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Amazon mp3 you can buy mp3 files directly through Amazon it seems. Bit of a waste for me, don't really need it so won't be in my next rom installation.
Guest rottenmonkey Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 installed the r7 baked with radio using Rom manager straight over the r5 mcr. i did a backup on both google and titanium. nandroid backup (just in case lol) working spot on. no issues so far. seems alot more responsive aswell. had issues regarding massive slow down on the r5. any issues on this il report. i didnt include the htc lockscreen just the standard android. no issues with the stock alarm
Guest Noonski Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Jbed Java is so you can run those old fashioned Java applications :) About Video. The new SetCPU seems to work after you start the Beta Perflock Disabler. (you will need to set it after each reboot) So you can try making videos with CPU set to Min 998MHZ & Max 998 MHZ. Maybe that will help the chopiness.
Guest Mondaro Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Actually HSPA is still part of the UMTS standard, it is just enhanced 3G essentially. HSPA is an addition to the prior UMTS standard - i do know that, just wanted to make clear the difference. we don't have hspa everywhere around here in my town - so sometimes you can see 3G and sometimes H displayed on your phone
Guest Mondaro Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) can't get mobile internet working on r7 - worked well on r5/r6 set up new apn manually. don't use any battery circle mod or stuff like that. did full wipe when flashing :) EDIT: solved ... something went wrong with apn settings ... did an apn reset and this time everything worked fine Edited August 9, 2010 by Mondaro
Guest Jasperov Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Just going to flash the r7 in a bit, quick question though. I'm coming from the r4 release but don't know if I need to wipe or not. Am considering wiping as I like the start fresh, but would still like to know for my own knowledge :)
Guest Heppieboeddah Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 using this rom, and its great, however I would like to put back one Telstra app.. does anyone know how to put back the Telstra MyAccount app? I have found the MyAccount.apk, MyAccount.odex and MyAccount.png, but how do I get them back on the phone? the apk will not install... Marty maybe the this is helpfull?
Guest shadamehr Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Paul, two things mate... 1) The wording of the messaging bit is still wrong mate, and that's not me being pedantic, as I baked two ROMs both the wrong way round as a result. Let me explain... "This option includes the standard Google Messaging application, replacing the HTC version that is installed if you don't select this option." Wrong. If you DON'T select this option (tick it), it will NOT replace the HTC version. So the first two ROMs I baked had the Google based Messaging App installed, as I ticked the option, thinking that's what I needed to do, to keep the HTC customised version of the Messaging app. Once again, your wording says that it WILL replace the HTC version, if you DON'T tick it. But that's the opposite. Trust me to cause trouble *lol* As for the second thing: 2) I have an issue with your ROM that others have also reported, but I didn't see in the very first ROM that was posted on XDA Forum on the Sunday it came out, nor the GR Edition ROM... I too am seeing a graphical issue or error, with the Header bars on certain applications. See the screenshots for more info, but bear in mind two things... ALL the screenshots are from the same ROM, so in others words, many applications and screens are fine, whilst others are showing this corruption. Secondly, it's well worth pointing out that posted here, the problem doesn't 'look' especially bad. But of course the real screen, as it appears on the phone, looks a lot worse than an image posted here. Any ideas what might be causing this Paul...? (Something I've just noticed is that at least for my examples, the issue only applies to screens with a WHITE main content. It is ok with BLACK screens. But rest assured, this might just be coincidence on what I took screen grabs from - or maybe it's not, maybe the white screen is the issue...?) Please ENLARGE properly to see the issue...
Guest KingDan Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Is there a way I can get back my official Plurk application?
Guest lebenskuenstler Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Hi Paul, just made my ROM. Very nice! But I'd like kindly request just one thing ... Please provide Toggle 2G for your ROM, if possible, too! (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739530) Till now, olny CM6 users can benefit from this. I think here are the relevant informations, what this all is about: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...mp;postcount=60 Note sure if you have your own cert key for your ROMs? Thx for looking into it in advance, LK
Guest Arty Marty Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 maybe the this is helpfull? I looked at that, but cant seem to get to the 'command prompt" using the amonra restore booter thingy... any ideas?
Guest saisquare Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Just read a thread in XDA, people there found a way to get write access on /system, can this tweak be included in next version? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748025
Guest silie Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 hi, do any of you encounter this: during a phone call you can hear the notification sound (SMS) .. but when i revert back to my old rom using nandroid, i don't experience this..
Guest Jamien Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Just flashed r7 from r6, hung at the HTC boot logo. Not sure why, but reverted back to r6 fine :) Don't particularly want to wipe ...
Guest AndrewMe Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Yes. Root has nothing to do with this problem. However, you don't want to get up or what? :) Well, it was just A QUESTION whether it's possible to fix it or not. If the answer is NO, I'll continue to look for the solution (OF COURSE I won't give up - otherwise, why to call it A PROBLEM? :D ) In the meanwhile, I've tried to run GPS navigation while charging, but with turned OFF debugging mode for USB. Can't be sure, if its functioning w/o problem at all, but 30 minutes without reboot - is already some kind of progress.. :D
Guest AndrewMe Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Just out of interest, what is "Amazon MP3" and "JBED Java"? I can't see those ones in the Google Market? Cheers Amazon MP3 works not for all countries, for Russia, for example, doesn't. So, I exclude or freeze it in Titanium Backup. About JBED Java - I also didn't find any demand for it from others apps' side, in addition it's unchecked by default in the kitchen..
Guest pumukele Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Hallo, die "Zurück" Taste funktioniert nicht immer. Man muss dann mehrfach draufdrücken oder längere Zeit (1-2 Sekunden ) draufdrücken. Woran liegt das ? Gruß ------------------------------------------------------ Hi, the "Back" button does not always work. You must then press the button several times or press the button long time (1-2 seconds). Why is that? Greeting
Guest egeekuk Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Baked a new ROM from the kitchen this morning and now have a few critical problems. * It won't recognise the SIM card. Just keeps saying Emergency calls only Insert SIM card when the phone is started. * It won't recognise anything plugged into the USB port. Either a charger, or my Mac (the charging light doesn't even come on) * When I select recovery from the fast boot menu, then attempt to run recovery script from 2.1 r5, I get the following error: Desire Recovery Mode Pushing required files to device... error: device not found error: device not found I've tried wiping the user data from fast boot, but it hasn't made any difference. At the minute I'm kind of stuck. The ROM that's flashed on it at the minute won't work, and I can't get it to go into any recovery mode to flash an earlier version of r7 again (or anything else). Anyone got any ideas?

There is no bug. Just buy a class 6 SD card and the videos will be better. This is not a bug. If u think u can make better roms than Paul, what is stopping u? Be grateful for what u get, and next time research the subject before wasting space on this forum.
Guest Albert Poon Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Paul, Please kindly put back the apns-conf.xml from earlier MCR say r5. The one in r7 is virtually empty.
Guest Laban Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Hi, the "Back" button does not always work. You must then press the button several times or press the button long time (1-2 seconds). Why is that? Greeting Started happenning to me today too but I'm not on this ROM. Can believe if the back button is already worn out? :)
