Guest pumukele Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Started happenning to me today too but I'm not on this ROM. Can believe if the back button is already worn out? :) No, the key is not worn. In other Rom's it works without problems
Guest egeekuk Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Baked a new ROM from the kitchen this morning and now have a few critical problems. * It won't recognise the SIM card. Just keeps saying Emergency calls only Insert SIM card when the phone is started. * It won't recognise anything plugged into the USB port. Either a charger, or my Mac (the charging light doesn't even come on) * When I select recovery from the fast boot menu, then attempt to run recovery script from 2.1 r5, I get the following error: Desire Recovery Mode Pushing required files to device... error: device not found error: device not found I've tried wiping the user data from fast boot, but it hasn't made any difference. At the minute I'm kind of stuck. The ROM that's flashed on it at the minute won't work, and I can't get it to go into any recovery mode to flash an earlier version of r7 again (or anything else). Anyone got any ideas? Tried installing ROM Manager from the market and have discovered that the phone is refusing to mount the SD card now too. Very stuck now!
Guest sudeki300 Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Just read a thread in XDA, people there found a way to get write access on /system, can this tweak be included in next version? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748025 don't think they ave ironed out all the bugs yet as there is still a 1 in 5 chance that the desire will hang at the qhite htc screen when booting. also none of the apps are working when this is working. i'm not to sure if this is for 2.2 or jusr 2.1 it's great to see that steps are bing taken in this though. i hope they fiind a way for it to work ok....................sudeki300
Guest madmic Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Tried installing ROM Manager from the market and have discovered that the phone is refusing to mount the SD card now too. Very stuck now! Dude - you have a USB brick! Don't worry you can recover from this, use the info here -> http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-desi...d-b0rked-fixed/ take it slowly and step by step and you're all good. You're using a risky version of the recovery process, if I were you I would install ROM Manager (as already suggested :) ) and use the recovery method there, much easier, faster and no chance of a USB brick! Good luck - if you need any help best to post in the forum above :D - oh, before you do anything further on your phone - read the forum above, then read it again, always best to be armed with the knowledge first :D
Guest Whiler92 Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 i didnt include the htc lockscreen just the standard android. no issues with the stock alarmYou set an alarmYou lock your deviceYou wait for the alarm...It rings...How do you switch it off?
Guest InsaneNutter Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Just flashed r7 from r6, hung at the HTC boot logo. Not sure why, but reverted back to r6 fine :) Don't particularly want to wipe ... I had to wait about 10 mins on the first boot after upgrading from r5, after that everything was fine.
Guest Paul Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Paul, two things mate... 1) The wording of the messaging bit is still wrong mate, and that's not me being pedantic, as I baked two ROMs both the wrong way round as a result. Let me explain... "This option includes the standard Google Messaging application, replacing the HTC version that is installed if you don't select this option." Wrong. If you DON'T select this option (tick it), it will NOT replace the HTC version. So the first two ROMs I baked had the Google based Messaging App installed, as I ticked the option, thinking that's what I needed to do, to keep the HTC customised version of the Messaging app. Once again, your wording says that it WILL replace the HTC version, if you DON'T tick it. But that's the opposite. Trust me to cause trouble *lol* I agree it could be worded better, but it does say that if you don't select this option you'll get the HTC one and by selecting it you will replace it. Anyone? :) 2) I have an issue with your ROM that others have also reported, but I didn't see in the very first ROM that was posted on XDA Forum on the Sunday it came out, nor the GR Edition ROM... I too am seeing a graphical issue or error, with the Header bars on certain applications. See the screenshots for more info, but bear in mind two things... ALL the screenshots are from the same ROM, so in others words, many applications and screens are fine, whilst others are showing this corruption. Secondly, it's well worth pointing out that posted here, the problem doesn't 'look' especially bad. But of course the real screen, as it appears on the phone, looks a lot worse than an image posted here. Any ideas what might be causing this Paul...? (Something I've just noticed is that at least for my examples, the issue only applies to screens with a WHITE main content. It is ok with BLACK screens. But rest assured, this might just be coincidence on what I took screen grabs from - or maybe it's not, maybe the white screen is the issue...?) I'll look into it! P
Guest Paul Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Paul, Please kindly put back the apns-conf.xml from earlier MCR say r5. The one in r7 is virtually empty. The main APNs file is actually inside framework-res.apk. :) P
Guest Paul Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 After I installed the new r7 (without 811n, near vanilla - without any additional software, only A2SD+ and some stock apps) i noticed: 1. WiFi icon is always in "full on" state 2. CPU frequency is always over 700MHz Possibly, it is the reason of the battery drain? Hmmm, i'll check that out. P
Guest Paul Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Same here. The widgets (dice and coin) appear to download but then don't install. I've search the phone and can't find where they're downloaded to soI suspect they're not actually being saved. Yes, this is a known issue and i'm working on a fix. P
Guest Paul Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 @Paul: thanks for your great Roms. Can you please add an option to symlink system/customize/resource/bootanimation.zip to data/local/ folder ? That would be great. I did it self by adb but this is hard job for some users (and me every time). :) I can do that no problem. :D P
Guest Paul Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Understand it's your party and everything, but a lot of your payed supporters, including me, are looking for some love for the Nexus Desire project. We are still stuck on the old version. Seems like you spend more time responding to this thread without a word in the Nexus thread for awhile. When can we expect an update r23? Remember that is based on the same ROM as my Desire ROM now, so when this is non WIP I'll look to make it available for N1 too. P
Guest Paul Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Paul, any chance of getting an English (Australia) locale built in on the next release? Also, the HTC boot screen is booooooring. I quite like the one that comes with the leedroid release and has really nice androidy boot sound. Yeah, that's easy enough. re: the bootscreen, i'm not changing it in my release specifically... P
Guest Paul Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Getting a lot of Package ... has no signatures that match those in shared user ignoring! errors during boot loops. I'll check my logcat here. I tested it and it worked OK tho for me! P
Guest dkodr Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 2) I have an issue with your ROM that others have also reported, but I didn't see in the very first ROM that was posted on XDA Forum on the Sunday it came out, nor the GR Edition ROM... That also happened to me after flashing "Smooth Sense Icons". After reflashing a clean ROM, everything went back to normal.
Guest Jagdish Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Paul would you please consider adding a perflock disable option in your kitchen? just so us lazy ppl wouldnt have to disable it via Setcpu everytime we boot. Thx in advance :)
Guest rottenmonkey Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 You set an alarmYou lock your deviceYou wait for the alarm...It rings...How do you switch it off? Was just going to report on that. I'd tried it just after flashing. Came up with the snooze or turn off function when alarm sounded. This morning however was a different story. Had to turn the desire off to shut the bloody thing off. I've disabled the stock alarm and installed one off market which is faultless.

Checking SetCPU, the frequency on mine DEFINITELY drops to 245MHz correctly. P
Guest kuchiwaza Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 (edited) What do I have to do to add OpenVPN to this ROM? Ist there a ZIP-file for the "Upload ZIP" button? Edited August 9, 2010 by kuchiwaza
Guest Jamien Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 I had to wait about 10 mins on the first boot after upgrading from r5, after that everything was fine. Cheers for the heads up :) Left it for a bit and it sorted itself out. Wish I read your advice before wiping though :D Restore time!
Guest Kevin La. Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Paul, what about Perflock ? Do you plan to disable/add an option to disable it ?
Guest skinnypupp Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Does this rom address the well-documented (and confirmed by Google) Gmail sync issue?
Guest Jasperov Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Amazon MP3 works not for all countries, for Russia, for example, doesn't. So, I exclude or freeze it in Titanium Backup. About JBED Java - I also didn't find any demand for it from others apps' side, in addition it's unchecked by default in the kitchen.. In Soviet Russia, Amazon MP3 runs you!
Guest DiscoHero Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 I have to reinstall Swype after every reboot. Very odd. Usually Swype stopped working when I flashed a new version of the rom w/o wiping ... not an issue with some of the other ROMs.
Guest EddyOS Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Noticed a lot of lag in this ROM whereas before it was fine, no new apps added to my usual set of about 4 apps...
