Guest EddyOS Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Quick question here: In the r5 2.2 ROM I could edit the default.xml file in /system/customize/CID to remove the Flickr entry (as I don't use it) but the options aren't in this ROMs default/xml file. Anyone know where they are so I can remove it??
Guest rameses Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Not sure why you'd WANT to install both Messaging apps, but it's nice to have the option right. :) P Absolutely. Also, just out of curiosity, what does the R mean in your signal meter?
Guest chipyy Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 (edited) I don't think this is a problem specific to this ROM as I've seen it with other 2.2 based ROMS, but every time I power cycle my phone, I get a notification telling me that my SIM has changed and offering me to tap to change my settings. Does anyone happen to know what the cause/fix for this is? Edited August 9, 2010 by chipyy

Guest Han-Droid Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 @chippy: had this once with a leedroid-rom. I learned ALWAYS to fully wipe and restore settings MANUALLY. APPS restoring always with care. If you did all of the above i would care to say that any bugs appearing NOW are due to a shitty rom.
Guest Paul Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Absolutely. Also, just out of curiosity, what does the R mean in your signal meter? Roaming. P
Guest Paul Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Perflock disable option is now in the Expert group of the kitchen. P
Guest Noonski Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Perflock disable option is now in the Expert group of the kitchen. P Very Nice! Thanks Paul.
Guest twe Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 There's some major low-level changes to this one... Do you expect them to speed up the ROM at all or for other things?
Guest Abnormal1 Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Perflock disable option is now in the Expert group of the kitchen. P What about a CFQ kernel module?
Guest Noonski Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 And it's working fine here right after boot. (PerfLock) I've set my device to gradually get one step slower every 8 Precent :)

Guest gosnis Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Did a short 24 hours test run and found two bugs: 1. When configuring vanilla Android keyboard there is Hebrew in the language list, BUT... when choosing it on the keyboard, I see plain old English letters. Don't know how it got on the list. Didn't know Hebrew write support exists. 2. When choosing Russian on Sense stock keyboard, the Space button on letters keyboard enters '!' sign. I was able to insert Space by switching to numbers (123). In that mode Space button really enters Space sign, but it switches back to letters right after that.
Guest Blimundus Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 I am running the MoDaCo Custom ROM r5 on my HTC Desire, and I am perfectly happy with that ROM. Nevertheless, I understand that, eventually, better options will be available. My simple question is: should I continue watching this thread until there is a release that is declared to be 'stable', so that I can then forget about doing further updates for a couple of months? Or will there never be something like that, and should I just use whatever is most recent? In other words: where does the MoDaCo ROM development for the HTC Desire go from here? (When I refer to a 'stable' release, I am not complaining about stability with the ROM that I use now; I wanted to use that word just to refer to the end point of a release cycle.) Thanks!
Guest Kevin La. Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 (edited) Maybe you tried while Paul was making changes... try again ? PS : It works fine for me (tested with default settings) Edited August 9, 2010 by Kevin La.

Personally, I'd say until another official Release get's out by HTC this Thread will have the ROM to stick with for a while. You'll see a lot of Cooks chasing the Dragon of leaked builds and ports from other devices, but staying with a build based on official release for device, always had my preference. The question is not when is Paul going to stop, it's when are you :)
Guest Sub501 Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Hello Paul, Excellent kitchen . One issue : I can't connect to hidden SSID wireless networks. Lucky me I found HiddenSSID Enabler on market :-). Part of my setup which may help tracking: A2SD+ , Disable 802.11N WiFi support, Disable perflock, Disable vibrate on shutdown, Trackpad Wake with Power. Is there a chance to fix this issue? BR, Sub
Guest venturerider Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Hey, Paul. You had mentioned a while back that there might be an option for ODEX and non-ODEX in the kitchen. Is that still in the works?
Guest da900 Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 (edited) Hi. Paul. Is there an abillity to include in the kitchen stock android Contacts. apk and Phone.apk? And will this be working? Edited August 9, 2010 by da900
Guest Pieronip Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 A new relase is pending. See us all scrabbling for the inclucion of our 'favourite' fixes! :) Any chance of a fix for phone won't respond to 'Reboot' command? It would be great.

It would be great. yeah! /data/data/com.koushikdutta.rommanager/files/reboot is a different file and doesn't contain "not permitted" ;-) w forgot: rebooted my phone wireless with ssh, it works!
