stock android contact app isn't there after i've selected it in the kitchen :)

i'm going to try and wipe everything and re-flash it

if it fails, i'm going to bed as its past 2am and i need to get up for work in a few hours

hopefully it can be resolved before work

There is a reply in this page that one man told that he didnt select it and its show him the stock contack.

hi again... R8 is running...

I keep having com.htc.bgp FC since R7. I've searched here in this topic, but only 3 persons mentioned and i didnt quite see a solution.

If i missed, im sorry in advance:)

Original contacts app works fine and present in my ROM! But i didn't select it in the kitchen! :-)

wipe everything and flashed r8, then:

1. Contacts/Phone are there but I didn't select

2. I still have to manually enter APN (45406)

3. Handwriting pad can nowhere be found

4. HTC Wallpapers are gone

Original contacts app works fine and present in my ROM! But i didn't select it in the kitchen! :-)

God this is the main reason I'm downloading this rom. Sense with android contacts!!! The download is taking forever, ill be gutted if it ain't there!

Hm, updated to r8, wiped as I wanted to start as afresh as possible, and I've lost Sense :)

Just installed R8 (R7->R8)

Everything is ok, but htc sence widgets doesn't work. I can see it in app manager but can't add to desktop.

Similar here, except not everything is ok...

My "Gmail Unread Message Counter" Widget, a well known widget, wasn't working on my Home screen, showing me a standard icon with no count instead.

So I removed it, and tried to re-add, and when I do, my phone hangs, then I get a Force Close or Wait message.

Was doing the same with Quick Reboot too, but that resolved with a manual reboot. Alas the Gmail Unread Message Widget one hasn't.

Additionally, for Paul, I too selected the option to also include stock Google Contacts, but I am not seeing it.

I have not done a Wipe test first though, for two reasons... firstly, I am now at work, and secondly cos I am not sure whether it would be preudent to, as there are multiple comments in the thread now, from users saying that they got Stock Messaging, WITHOUT ticking the option, coupled with others who DID tick, saying it's not there.

So I will wait to see if it wasn't a mis-labeled Kitchen option first, before doing a Wipe.

Additionally, there are no extra HTC Widgets in my screen, even though I chose Dice, Coin, Notes, and Tip Calculator in my Rom build.

Flashlight is called Torch now though, so it IS the r8 ROM I have installed.

AFAIK there are no mislabelled options or anything, everything should work as intended but could well require a wipe.

Aww man, you mean upgrading from R7 to R8 might require a wipe even if I'm choosing the same options?

I upgraded successfully in my test, but to get the use of the old Contacts app, you may need to.

4. They shouldn't be, I have fixed the initial issue of Contacts APK in the zip I believe.

I too had the same problem with Gmail Unread Counter, again I didn't wipe beforehand. Now backed everything up with Titanium, wiped clean, and reinstalling r8 as I write. Will give feedback once installed and set up

Include the Weather option. It should add in the parts that should not get you this error.

2. Not everyone needs WifiN support and there have been reports of it draining a bit more battery.

4. And Perflock will enable SetCPU to do some over clocking without the need to det Perflock manually at every reboot.

Nope it ain't. But i think final and stable version will surely get that as an option, as Paul has stated to look into it.
