Guest TamirDa Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Ooh OpenVPN, nice surprising extra option. Just started playing with firewall yesterday and did not get it running, this should help. Include the Weather option. It should add in the parts that should not get you this error. Or Whipe first. 1. +1 :) 2. Not everyone needs WifiN support and there have been reports of it draining a bit more battery. 3. Paul said it won't 4. And Perflock will enable SetCPU to do some over clocking without the need to det Perflock manually at every reboot. 5. Don't think so, will know in a few minutes :D Nope it ain't. But i think final and stable version will surely get that as an option, as Paul has stated to look into it. 6. Nowhere, it's gone, this is R7 now 7. Yes Thx man:) What you recommand to select?
Guest shadamehr Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 AFAIK there are no mislabelled options or anything, everything should work as intended but could well require a wipe. P I was referring Paul to the three or more posters who GOT Stock Contacts, without ticking for it. Wipe or no Wipe, that's a curious one *lol* Me, I will try a Wipe now just for you, as I should have a reasonable Titanium Backup. Of course, after proving or disproving on Clean Wipe and Install, I likely will bring the problem back once i Titanium Restore though, so this is only good for testing purposes, not going forward *lol* I'll give it a go and let you know, but was highlighting the three who DID get it, without ticking for it. Whereas others of us HAVE ticked for Stock Contacts too, and are not seeing it. Off to wipe now mate... Will post back.
Guest Albert Poon Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Hey Paul, the list is going longer... [full wipe before flash] 1. Contacts/Phone are there but I didn't select - fixed as you said 2. I still have to manually enter APN (45406) 3. Handwriting pad can nowhere be found 4. HTC Wallpapers are gone 5. After flashed r8, in the initial setup process, F/C right after adding gmail a/c. However, contacts are synced, market usable.

I found where the rogue Contacts app, but it should be appearing for people who select it and wipe (nobody has said yay or nay yet?) P
Guest shadamehr Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 (edited) Gah, just spotted the cause of the 'Contacts appear when not selected issue'. Fixing now. P Oh and another one Paul - I have "News and Weather" in my App list, even though I didn't select it. BUT... could this be a similar error with the Kitchen, to the contacts one, or moreover, is it because I never did a "Wipe" and of course had News and Weather BEFORE installing r8...? EDIT... As I am doing a Wipe and Install again now to test the Contacts thing out, I will first look and see if News and Weather is there on clean bootup too, and answer my own question in this respcet too mate, and let you knwo about that one too. Blonde moment, my part. Edited August 10, 2010 by shadamehr

Guest EddyOS Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Just noticed on an r8 I baked an hour ago that both gmail apks are in if you tick 2.2.1 - is this normal?
Guest Noonski Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 (edited) Hey a clean out in Resources, Nice. You can also dump the clockwidget folder in system\etc. Been doing so since R4 with HTC Clock removed without strangeness. Also you can dump the htc.rss in resources without problems when removing HTC RSS. I can't find where you have placed the Bootscreen? I understand it might now be symlinked to Data and maybe i missed one new option. But shouldn't the bootanimation be somewhere in the rom before hand? (Still doing Nandroid here ATM) Edited August 10, 2010 by Noonski
Guest jeandujardin Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 (edited) like someone said before, HTC wallpapers is missing, since R6 when I add a zip to bake it doesnt change the files in /system does anybody else have this problem ? Edited August 10, 2010 by jeandujardin
Guest Paul Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Just noticed on an r8 I baked an hour ago that both gmail apks are in if you tick 2.2.1 - is this normal? No, I just this minute fixed that, it's probably the cause of the gmail crash mentioned above. P

Guest Paul Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 like someone said before, HTC wallpapers is missing Yep, looking into this. P
Guest Paul Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Paul i really want to bake me some rom, but i need that you fix all bug pls:) i hate beta:@ when you will finish the R8? thx tamir Ummm, well this IS clearly stated a WIP. P
Guest Albert Poon Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 1. Fixed. 2. Working on it. 3. Investigating. 4. Selecting from where? 5. Odd! What did you bake in / out? P 1 - 3 Thanks! You are the man! 4. Menu button > Wallpaper & Settings > Personalize > Home wallpaper 5. Google Apps: only Gmail and Live Wallpapers / HTC Apps: Calculator, Flashlight, FM Radio, HTC IME, Lock Screen, Sense, Stocks, Voice Recorder, Weather, World Clock / Widgets: none / 3rd party apps: none (I would like to have Rom Manager tho) / MoDaCo Additions: none / Experts: A2SD+, all Disables, Radio / Wake: Home Thanks!!!
Guest christonge Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Cheers for quick fixes.. had Gmail FC so be interesting to see if it was the second apk that was causing that
Guest TamirDa Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Ok man thx for your supporting:) you are Da man!
Guest Noonski Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 (edited) Also i deselected Quick Office but QuickLookup.apk is still in Rom. Also when deselecting Android IME shouldn't UserDictionaryProvider.apk also be removed from Rom. (Unless HTC_IME also uses it, but other keyboards I use don't use this, could be there are Keyboards out there that might use it) Edited August 10, 2010 by Noonski
Guest jeandujardin Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 @Paul - you forgot to remove the "Learn More" icon - crash of Gmail at setup wizard but the app itself works good otherwise -"since R6 when I add a zip to bake it doesnt change the files in /system" does anybody else have this problem ?
Guest Noonski Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 (edited) Ghehehe, were working Paul as much as we can, since we know he's actively working on it right now. Okay I guess adding boot-animation should not go int System\customize\resources anymore and that the default Android Boot screen is now in this build. Flashed without Whipe, checking it out. So far no Errors or crashes, but I did remove some of the stuff i mentioned in my previous posts. Edited August 10, 2010 by Noonski
Guest Pradi Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 (edited) Hi Folks for all who don't Know, there is a New Version of Super Circle Battery build by the Devs. It works Very fine here, no more trouble with APN settings. Full Thread File Ps.: The German-Weekname Bug is Still There, but I think this is an Bug by HTC, other Roms Like LeeDroid have the same Issue Edited August 10, 2010 by Pradi
Guest christonge Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Hi Paul, What happened to the HTC boot screen? I now have the standard Android one :-S Not that important but just to let you know. Chris
Guest Noonski Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 (edited) Hi Paul, What happened to the HTC boot screen? I now have the standard Android one :-S Not that important but just to let you know. Chris Most propably Paul has Symlinked it to \Data\local. So you can add your own more easily. But I moved my bootanimation there I(made the folder) and still don't get custom boot. Read the previous posts before posting what is already found :) I think there's more hickups in there then expected. No bad it's WIP anyway. Edited August 10, 2010 by Noonski
