Guest Paul Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 No, this feature was added by HTC. To change the default, find Contacts in Settings -> Applications and click 'Clear Defaults'. P
Guest LouiS22 Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 (edited) Just a quick response: without wipe, HTC extra widgets are not available, also cannot download from market (package wasn't signed correctly). Is there a way to fix it (I don't want to wipe)? Edited August 11, 2010 by LouiS22
Guest TristanSun Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Paul thank you for r8 Is there a chance you will fix the Hebrew = Arabic correction (not the font support ) that when you write it will start at the left ? I know its been done at the openDesire project but I'm working with yours and prefer them . Thank u in advance
Guest woti17 Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 And if you don't have Rom Manager? :) su busybox reboot -f now phone reboots w
Guest sanfran Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Just a quick response: without wipe, HTC extra widgets are not available, also cannot download from market (package wasn't signed correctly). Is there a way to fix it (I don't want to wipe)? I had the same problem after restoring with Titanium Backup - no extra widget available. I found a workaround, just clear the data for "HTC Sense" in Setting, Applications. All shortcuts of the desktop are lost, but at least the widgets are working now. BR

Guest Vulpix Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Hey Paul, there's a new version of the A2SD script here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=719151 Will this actually be useful?
Guest LouiS22 Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 (edited) Good spot! P Brilliant! Indeed working :) This is why Android community is so powerful - people help each other! Sanfran, thank you! Paul, I think this observation worth a sticky, or at least a few lines in the changelog. Edited August 11, 2010 by LouiS22
Guest Albert Poon Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 If I am not using SetCPU, any reason for me to disable Perflock?
Guest manicyaz Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 What is the advantage of disabling 802.11N Wi-fi - noticed that it is checked by default.
Guest hikron Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Is it possible to add locale English (Australia) No problems on the r7 rom, just flashed and had this issue.
Guest EddyOS Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 (edited) Randomly just baked another ROM and got a new 'Android' splash screen - looks nice but is it meant to have it?!?! Also, default language is EN-US not GB :) Edited August 11, 2010 by EddyOS
Guest z7x8c9 Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 I noticed something strange... My phone is allways syncing... like when you click "sync all" and the circular arrows appear on the notification bar... it's been like this for 3 hours now... and it appears everything is in sync. Anyone else experiencing similar issues?
Guest chipyy Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 How well would a no-wipe flash over R7 go? Would I need to bake it with the same options or would this not matter?

Anyone else experiencing similar issues? I guess you baked your ROM without Friend Stream but with HTC contacts ? Putting Friend Stream back should resolve the problem.

I had this with Friend Stream deselected quite often...think it has happened since (with Friend Stream reselected in r8) but much less often...
Guest OneCheekyDevil Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Been using R8 all day and haven't found any bugs with it yet. Im still getting double notifications with my SMS when using HandcentSMS, but that's not a fault with the ROM :) I've re-baked the ROM again tonight and re-flashed it after wiping everything to get rid of the gmail bug people have reported to ensure i have minimal bugs. Will report back again tomorrow after some further testing.
Guest Zarch1972 Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 I had this with Friend Stream deselected quite often...think it has happened since (with Friend Stream reselected in r8) but much less often... I've found that you either have to select all of Peep, Facebook and FriendStream or none of them. Any combination in between causes me "contacts" and "sync" issues as they seem reliant on each other with Peep and FB also containing the underlying Sync functions.
Guest OneCheekyDevil Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 How well would a no-wipe flash over R7 go? Would I need to bake it with the same options or would this not matter? I had issues initially with flashing without a wipe ('cause i got impatient), but after wiping fully and re-flashing, all bugs were gone :)

Peep's not necessary unless you sync Twitter to your normal contacts. Same with Facebook - if you sync contacts from either app into your normal contacts then THAT needs to be selected along with Friendstream. Frustrating I know... :)
Guest mrshark Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 You havent baked in Friendstream, even if you don't want it, it's needed to avoid this issue. paul, for these "known" bugs (at least for who reads the entire thread, or use the search function), maybe it's best to put little notes just below the corresponding options on the kitchen, just to prevent repeating Q&A...
Guest Paul Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Yeah, good call, i'll add a 'known issues'. P

Guest vfrvulcan Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 did you uncheck any HTC related stuff (especially Friendstream)? I've flashed from r4 upwards with no issues in this department connecting, to Exchange and Gmail. Friendstream is never selected, but as someone else said above, neither is Facebook, Tweet, Peep or any of the other social networking c@rp. Don't reckon it's down to just Friendstream. Aaron
