Hi all,

When I long press on my car's bluetooth handsfree it brings up the voice dial app which is nice. The problem is it brings up the old one and not the new voice actions one. Would be nice to be able to send a text while driving without touching the phone etc.

anyone know how to change the app that gets activated?

thanks.

I guess that mean you didnt install the new voice search app because they are suppose to replace the old one, not coexist.

install the app again or flash R8

Hi

I am new.

I rooted yesterday my desire with the unrevoked3 methode.

My Bootloader is v0.83

I installed RomManager from market and then i installed ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.1.

After i partitioning my sd-card (all with Rom Manager) ext 512MB, 0 swap MB.

Today i baked a r8 custom rom here, copy it to my sc-card and rename it to update.zip.

I booted into recovery and

Now i have this error:

E:signature verification failed

Installation aborted.

MD5 hash is correct!

I cant find a solution @google :D

thx 4 help

hf

Flash the recovery again in ROM MANAGER, copy the R8 rom (Bake a rom with Radio INCLUDED and SIGNED) at the root of the SD card but dont rename it to update.zip [there is a file named like that already] go in recovery --> apply sdcard:update.zip [blue menu]then you'll see another menu [green menu] choose install zip from sd card then select the rom zip and flash

I updated to r8 this morning and now when I install google maps it disappears after a reboot. Anyone else seen anything like this?

Apart from that everything is working great - thanks.

Yes, I had this exact issue myself with an R8 I baked the other day. Full wipe before install. Rolled back to an R6 nandroid for a few days as I needed everything working whilst at work - but going to bake a new one and reflash today - hopefully it was something I overlooked or a bad Titanium restore causing issues. Will find out soon enough!

Anyone got the super circle battery mod apk for r8? preferably version C

Couldn't find it on xda

Version A for MCR r7 works fine here. No lost APN problem.

thanx a lot for replay.

i can t find the tun.ko

i thought i will come within this rom.

the openvpn conf works on my linux client.

but the output on the desire is that:

Sat Aug 14 13:13:14 2010 [server.does.not.exists] Peer Connection Initiated with 213.148.158.130:1194

Sat Aug 14 13:13:16 2010 Note: Cannot open TUN/TAP dev /dev/tun: No such file or directory (errno=2)

Sat Aug 14 13:13:16 2010 Note: Attempting fallback to kernel 2.2 TUN/TAP interface

Sat Aug 14 13:13:16 2010 Cannot open TUN/TAP dev /dev/tun0: No such file or directory (errno=2)

so it seems there is no tun.ko in the kernel nor in the right path.

i tried to push a tun.ko wich i found in an older entry in the forum, but it doesn t work.

thanks a lot for your answer.

in terminal do:

the kernel module is in /system/lib/modules

last time i checked, it doesn't seem to load on boot

so do:

lsmod

you won't see tun.ko loaded

do:

cd /system/lib/modules

insmod ./tun.ko

lsmod

you should see tun.ko loaded

hope this helps

Yes, I have the same problem. As a workaround, start Google Maps, it gets a satellite fix qiuckly, then shut down google maps and start Sygic. Its a bit fuzzy, but it works.

Try GPS Status from the Market. It will confirm that you have an actual satellite lock.

In a file explorer, find "Drive\Android\settings.ini" and change "HardwareChange=False" into "=True"

Just whiped and reflashed - noticed that there is still no "English Australia" language/locale.. any chance of getting this added in Paul?

also the config is loading and i get an ip.

but, after connecting via vpn i can t ping any internal adresse:

# ping 192.168.1.1

PING 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1) 56(84) bytes of data.

^C

--- 192.168.1.1 ping statistics ---

59 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 58052ms

but this works:

# ping -I tun0 192.168.1.30

PING 192.168.1.30 (192.168.1.30) from 172.16.0.69 tun0: 56(84) bytes of data.

I assume your referring to these governors .

Did anyone manage to get these to run on r8 manually as I tried but could not get it to work. Is it that r8 uses a different kernel to 2.6.32.15-gf9c0527?

Hi! I have the same problem with VPNC, i have the tun0 with IP address, routes in place, but when i try traceroute, i see the packages are still sent through the eth0 by default ( i replaced the ip with x.x.x):

sh-4.1# traceroute 9.x.x.x

traceroute to 9.x.x.x (9.x.x.x), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets

1 192.168.2.1 (192.168.2.1) 3.326 ms 1.709 ms 1.525 ms

2 *^C

The ping works, for me too ,if i set the tun0 as you did in your post.

For all the network gurus: any help would be appreciated! :D

Thanks!
