Guest meabigbaldguy Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuoS1XqUyRw...feature=channel Manipulated perhaps, because I tried to do the same with a full set of bars, waited and waited, and nothing happened. Besides! I'm certain that were this a genuine O2 issue, then it would have been broadcast here ages ago. For example, anyone recall that little nuisance with the dust behind the screen?

When i take my phone in my hands like in the video the signal goes down....Whats this?
Guest Vostradamus Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 uhm... I've not been able to make the signal go down, no matter how I tried to put my hands around the phone and no matter how long I waited...
Guest WovW Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 uhm... I've not been able to make the signal go down, no matter how I tried to put my hands around the phone and no matter how long I waited... Confirmed... I've tried in all position of the hand... always same signal strength... I suppose the video is a pooooooor FAKE! sTIV jOOOBs... Mavvatteloapiglià.... Bye
Guest jeffrey2000 Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 (edited) Has to be fake, there's not even dropping 1 line here when I try this!!! Not even if I push it even harder or with 2 hands wrapped around the phone... Guess the phone or the environment around it is manipulated somehow... Edited July 26, 2010 by jeffrey2000
Guest DunKnow Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 I cannot believe that Apple needs to do this to other brands that are competiting with it. Is this the way to handle their own fault by pushing the faults to every companies that are in the mobile phone markets? What they claim is not even true.. i do not have the signal problem at all...
Guest Dado... Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 fake. i always hold in left arm and i hold 10 minutes and not drop any line....
Guest vlgligor Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 I have the same behavior at the office: when I grip the phone as in video, the bars are dropping from 4 to just 1, but I never dropped a call with the phone. So I don't think the video is fake. If necessary I can provide also a video.
Guest Ender Psp Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 Well, with one hand it didn't work for me. Putting both hands (one over the other - and around the phone) I managed to get the antenna signal to drop from 4 to 3 bars. This suggests that the effect is influenced by the strength of the signal in the area. However so, nobody is normally holding the O2 like that when making a call and the lame excuse comparison with iPron's issue is just a joke. That phone has a real issue.
Guest qtilt Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 I have the same behavior at the office: when I grip the phone as in video, the bars are dropping from 4 to just 1, but I never dropped a call with the phone. The signal drop also occurs with my O2, but when would anyone hold the phone perfectly still in a death grip for so long? This video has nearly no real world application. Apple need to stop making excuses, they made a faulty product. Period.
Guest Greg330 Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 not only its fake , i"ve tried it as all of you and same... not a twitch, but they don"t have the guts to let us reply with our own proof their plain old LIARS. cause thats the other name for fakers.
Guest Devhux Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 The big issue is that we don't know how Samsung designed their signal bars. As Apple proved with iOS 4 vs. 4.0.1, this can make a big difference. Depending how the bars are calculated, a -10dBm drop in signal could result in no bars dropping, or 2-3 bars. You just can't compare bars between phones. Bear in mind that the strongest signal you'll ever see is -51dBm, yet some companies may still show 5 bars with a signal as low as -80dBm (which is significantly less). Overall, it was definitely a publicity stunt to let Apple sidestep the issue, but sadly Apple is a company that will rarely admit to making a mistkae.
Guest rolandom Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 (edited) What kind of dumb person did this..... Apple xD...? This video it's not fake I mean it may happen and it depends of your environment if you are surrounded near electrical appliances, battery level, the architecture of the towers of signal, number of people using the towers near to you. In my case this happens when I enter to my office with 7 air conditioners. And I don't need to even hold it. If I go out full signal. And there's a lot of factors even high speed of wind can modify this. Note: I work on this. (LOL) Second Note: I tried the video and...It's just dumb. Edit: Just to add even clouds can modify the strength of signal with a Satellite.... Edited August 16, 2010 by rolandom
Guest xaznxplaya Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 That's kinda BS. It happens to 1/1000 device?
Guest vlgligor Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 That's kinda BS. It happens to 1/1000 device? It happens to all devices, giving proper conditions, but this is not a fault. Put any antenna device in a Faraday cage and you'll drop any radio signal.
Guest ORGAniZM Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 (edited) I've tried to do exactly as shown in Apples video and it ... HAPENS whether you like it or not! Omnia II also drops it's radio signal slowly from 4 bars to 1... But nobody from Samsung haven't sad that he loves their customers so much that we can get a free case for our Omnia II  It's really pity... Edited August 22, 2010 by ORGAniZM
Guest sinancetinkaya Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 No signal loss on omnia 2 at all, no matter how you hold it. Simply Apple's trying to justify itself by vilifying other PDAs
Guest superdarkyaya Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 (edited) I'm not a liar !!! (Jedi never lie) I've tested it and.......................................I've lost the signal like in the video (I've put my 2 hands around the phone) But JUST one time !!!! It's crazy ^^ Edited August 22, 2010 by superdarkyaya
