Guest btrig1990 Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 (edited) I just bought a omnia 2 from verizon and it is already flashed/flex'd for metro pcs. -The only thing is when I took it to the metro store to have my number programmed the guy said the rom was "ghetto rigged." Now my phone works fine but I don't have internet or maps and such. The most irritating thing to me is when i plug it into USB, my OS(XP x64) says "USB device has stopped functioning." I have some questions and would greatly appreciate any help, I am an expert in the computer hardware/basic programming, automotive service, detailing, motorcycle repair, botany, horticulture and many other fields and would be happy to exchange knowledge for knowledge. 1. Does anyone have this phone or a windows 6.5 on MetroPCS that is working as well? (just wondering) 2. If i perform a master reset or memory clear, what does this do exactly and does this mean I will not be able to program my number in the phone unless I ROM it again? 3. Why would my USB connection not work if its a windows based phone, is there an easier way to edit my phone registry to get this working again or am I doomed to master reset the phone and re flash/flex it. 4. What do I need to do after i master reset the phone to get it working on Metro again, as of now, the serial number is in Metros network system but I do not know who originally programmed it and whether or not they assigned a new serial number to the phone and then registered it onto metros network, or if the phone itself is registered to the metro network. Right now im lost and im almost ready to sign up for verizon just so i can reset my phone and have it work properly. Any insight? Thank You! PS I love the phone and as a PC guy the iphone can suck it! The droid on the other hand is an engineering wonder and Im willing to put money that google will start manufacturing their own computers within 5 years and also devoid the hard drive altogether in favor of a Google server based storage network where the world can store their information and their individual PCs will act as a terminal on a worldwide network. Interweb 3.0 here google comes. Edited July 31, 2010 by btrig1990
