ROM dump question

Dear experts,

In order to make a rom dump, do I need to reflash my phone with fresh OS before I dump?

Right now Im using JF5 and made quite some changes such as registry and settings.

My question is, in order to get a clean ROM dump, do I need to have a clean stock ROM without any modification?

I appreciate your help. I would like to learn to customize the ROM.

im not expert, i think u can dump the rom without reflashing or hardreset. all apps installed by cabs will no be in rom dump.
