It does, non-Orange radios tend to lead to SIM lock...all Orange ROMs have had new radios

Eddy,

can you advise an Orange-friendly radio version?

I am currently thinking I need to downgrade to 2.1 and flash a different RUU (rather than accept the standard froyo 2.2 via OTa which I did already)?

Or should I just root the phone and flash a different radio?

No one has extracted the Orange radio yet, but I'll do it in a bit...no gurantee it'll work though, and unless you're rooted you won't be able to change it anyway

No issue with rooting, I quite like froyo and bar my sim not being recognised, everything else was honky dory

thanks for your time last week, however I managed to downgrade to 2.1, run the Froyo OTA update WITH goldcard inserted and all is functioning correctly. I am now on software version 2.10.405.2.
