Not sure why it won't work with my install. I tried from market, direct download, a signed and unsigned rom, nothing worked. Is there a signed apk?

It only works on ROMs that have their system apps properly signed (Like Cyanogenmod ROMs, with testkeys??).

It doesn't work on most Sense roms, which have been signed with official release keys.

But people reported that it does work on their MCR R8, so I am wondering what I am doing wrong.

Could you try a thing for me? Go to Clockwork Recovery and disable signature checking in the advanced menu. Try to install it now. I have no idea if this works but that is the only thing I can imagine why this works for some people like me and not for others.

Exactly. But I doubt that MCR8 has it's system apps resigned. At least some people fail to install this app on MCR8 and some not. So there must be another problem somewhere. My hypothesis is that the problem will be solved once signature checking is disabled in ClockworkMod.

i don't have a signature item in the advanced menu of clockwork mod. I am still on 2.5.0.1

Does this mean, I need an update zip?

Sugnature verification was alrady set to "off". It seems as it may be is something with the options in the kitchen you checked.
