Guest Echo30 Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 When I File Explore to Windows > Startup, I see some files that wm doesn't recognize (there's no icon). This is what I get: (icon: bell) AlarmWatcher 1/01/09 56B (icon: none) CHomeManager 1/01/09 30B (icon: none) LinkMgr 1/01/09 74KB (icon: looks like the letters W T L in 3D blocks) PlayerAutoUpdate 1/01/09 50B (icon: none) poutlook 1/01/09 14B (icon: none) ScreenCapture 1/01/09 31B (icon: none) SendMTMSG 1/01/09 25B Does anyone know what these are? I've installed some things like ThrottleLauncer, SPB, iPhoneToday, some widgets from a thread on here. All has been deleted, are these leftovers? Does this mean I have a screen capture function?
Guest Omega Ra Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) When I File Explore to Windows > Startup, I see some files that wm doesn't recognize (there's no icon). This is what I get: (icon: bell) AlarmWatcher 1/01/09 56B I believe this has to do with your alarms should you have any set, and it is what enables them to go off (icon: none) CHomeManager 1/01/09 30B Chome is basically Titanium, so I assume this has to do with that (icon: none) LinkMgr 1/01/09 74KB don't know (icon: looks like the letters W T L in 3D blocks) PlayerAutoUpdate 1/01/09 50B This is for touchplayer, it is the program that pops up when you open touchplayer and it tells you it found new files, blah blah (icon: none) poutlook 1/01/09 14B this is pocket outlook aka your e-mail. (icon: none) ScreenCapture 1/01/09 31B just recently found out this is what puts the pictures in the task switcher (icon: none) SendMTMSG 1/01/09 25B don't know. Does anyone know what these are? I've installed some things like ThrottleLauncer, SPB, iPhoneToday, some widgets from a thread on here. All has been deleted, are these leftovers? Guest Greg330 Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 hi you hae a 6.5 rom ? and the samsung menu ? the linkmanager line is for that menu , you can and will gain memory by deleting it. if you do use the samsung menu, link it to a hard buton or somewhere else. no need to have the menu prelaunched, especially if not used. cheers

If I delete it, will it affect the main menu working at all? I don't really use it, but just wondering. Also, if I need it back for some reason, could I copy it to another folder to hold it, and then copy it back if needed?

Guest ray1234 Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 I've deleted all those files from the startup as I dont use those functions, no problem encountered.
Guest Echo30 Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Deleted linkmngr and the WTL thing, restarted, no problems so far! However I don't use the samsung main menu so haven't tried to load that yet. On boot up using the 6.5 interface with Home Screen Customizer (windows marketplace) I'm getting 67mb of RAM, not bad!
Guest rgsekula Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) I've deleted all those files from the startup as I dont use those functions, no problem encountered. ditto. If using titanium i noticed that w/o "CHomeManager" the clock panel would not function, however. The time would stay frozen and be different than the system clock. FWIW. Stock Verizon Rom just my battery indicator and Resco Contact Manager . Uploaded with ImageShack.us 80 [82] mb @ boot w/ Samsung Today Screen shot app consume +/- 2 mb w/ Resco Today Plugin Uploaded with ImageShack.us Edited August 5, 2010 by rgsekula
Guest Greg330 Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 you can delete linkmangerr and album search but not chome manager if you use titanium. the main menu will stil work even if mapped to a boton or clicked ia WM menu. its only going to take 3sec more to load the 1rst time. album search, well all you need to do is update yourself via the link. and you wont get that stupid updatte message at every start up. :)
Guest Kucher2000 Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 SendMTMSG is a Mobile Tracker service that will send SMS message if somebody will change SIM card. This service must be activated before ( Settings->Security -> Mobile Tracker). If you don't use it you can delete it also.
