It is advised to backup the /efs directory, however, I do not know what software could do this. I can't even see it from the stock file manager to copy/paste. I used the "copy" function of Root Explorer to copy the folder to my external SDcard. I don't think it preserves UNIX permissions but they can always be fixed once copied back.
