For some reason, my Gmail isn't fully functioning. My Inbox is the only folder receiving messages. I have several other folders that aren't getting any emails, and it is quite frustrating since I've tried asking this on two other forums...

I tried the usual of deleting the account then setting it up. The problem still persists even after I upgraded to DC23.

Also, for programs we install through the Marketplace, do all of them show up in the Windows Menu as that ugly silver box with a logo? If not, how do you change it?

And lastly, where do I install and run NET framework?

Thanks

k so Gmail is synced by active sync. you can set up a wireless exchange server, just google it if u dont know how. The only folder that syncs by default i believe is hotmail? i might be wrong lol. Umm to sync ur hotmail u can go to your windows live options and set the sync schedual to sync as items arrive, again check google if you dont know how. any other email you have set up will have to be synced manually, unless using an exchange server, but correct me if im wrong, i think you can only set up 1 exchange server, so if you have hotmail and gmail set up, your third email (yahoo for example) would have to be synced manually. I hope that helps somewhat? Im not 100% sure maybe someone else can provide a better answer.

I have downloaded plenty of apps from the windows market place and i didnt get an ugly silver box with a logo, so maybe it just depends on the app. You can always just go into ur settings via computer and change the icon, or download some icon packs provided somewhere here on this forum. You can just google how to change your icon or search this forum, also check xda they have some good icon packs there.

and lasty the net framework, im running 3.5 now (most members here run it i think) i think it installs by default to your device memory, but if you are given the option (i installed it a while back so i forgot lol) install it to your device memory. It doesnt take up much room so it wont make a major difference lol.

I hope this helped, maybe somebody else can provide more answers. I dont have my phone with me at the moment...sent out to repairs so yea..its been gone for 3 weeks..

Just to add that I didn't figure out how to sync the folders using the Exchange server of Google. But using the IMAP server and setting up Gmail like a regular e-mail is working like a charm and I was receiving all the mails from all the folders and I don't see the reason to use the Exchange/Activesync synchronization. Not to mention that on my phone for some weird reason the push sync was not working.

So my advice is to set it up like IMAP mailbox with a time of check every two minutes and I'm sure you will not miss any e-mail :)

Yeah, I've set my gmail account to use the IMAP server, yet I get no emails in my folders... I've never tried Exchange. Do I have to constantly synchronize my Omnia using Exchange, or would it be automatic?

I have been using exchange and that works fine, you can set your settings to sync your contacts, calender, tasks, gmail

You can also set the settings for your Gmail to sync as items arrive, it should be somewhere with the exchange server options, I dont have my phone on me now so I cant really say exactly where but you can also google

http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/a...amp;topic=14299 -> how to set up exchange server

I believe you go to Menu>schedual and set it to as items arrive OR you can do it manually start>email>gmail( or google mail)>menu>send and recieve :)

I honestly would just like to stay away from Exchange and keep it relatively simple on IMAP...

This is really frustrating as probably thousands of others get this to work , and for some unknown reason, I can't....

Just to keep it easier for me. If I use Exchange, do I have to use Outlook as well?

nope exchange is simple, all you are doing with it is setting up a wireless exchange server between an email of your choice (in this casee gmail) and your phone. You can use it to sync contacts tasks etc. If you want to learn more just google it and you can get all the details.

I just tried setting up Exchange, but it doesn't detect google's settings and if I do it when my phone's connected to my laptop, it asks me to setup using Outlook?

So am I supposed to Outlook or what? This is confusing me....
