Guest twrock Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 (edited) I flashed this over my WIP pre-release ROM from Paul. A2SD doesn't work here too. That is what A2SD check says. # a2sd check [ ] Apps2SD is launching... [ ] Starting Apps2SD Check Program. [ ] Searching for Mount Point... [✔] Mount point /system/sd located. [ ] Checking for ext partition Darktremor Apps2SD Status Report =============================================================== Legend: [✔]=Setting is correct [‼]=Setting is correct, but not optimal. [✖]=Setting is incorrect and needs to be fixed. =============================================================== <snip> So why is it I see nothing in the brackets when I run a2sd check? Everything is just blank. Incidentally, I know a2sd is working, because I have way more apps installed than can fit and I still have 16mb free memory. Edited August 7, 2010 by twrock
Guest Simon O Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 So why is it I see nothing in the brackets when I run a2sd check? Everything is just blank. Incidentally, I know a2sd is working, because I have way more apps installed than can fit and I still have 16mb free memory. A2SD will report if it's not setup correctly if you do the a2sd check. Does it say anything like this? Does it say if the apps are going onto SD? It's now 3 people reporting weird A2SD issues on this ROM which is 3 too many. I may need to tweak the ROm slightly.
Guest Simon O Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Uploaded r2 and posted to first page. Hopefully resolves issues with a2sd.
Guest _melchett Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Would it be possible to pull the standard music.apk from this (for a poor soul whose pulse's volume up button rarely works) ... that is if the stock music still has the onscreen volume changer

You'll need to push this to the phone using ADB or copy it using Root Explorer. Music.zip

My problem is that I get the full "report" when I run a2sd check, but there is nothing in the brackets to show me what is working, what is not, and what is not optimal. The only difference is that some look like this [] and others look like this [ ]. The only apparent difference is that there is a space in between some of the brackets sometimes, but there is nothing there that looks like a checkmark or an X or the !! that is visible in the report that pandinusimp posted earlier. So I'm guessing that a2sd works because of the massive number of apps I was able to just keep dumping on the phone today, way more than I ever had before. But the check report doesn't let me see what is really going on. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

It's possible that the larger bracket is the one with the checkmark inside. Damnit this was much better when it was a simple * or not :)
Guest Krinyo Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 iGO satnav is using approx 17 MB memory from device onboard memory, even it's installed with A2SD to SD card! I prefer Sygic, which run completely from SD card.
Guest flip360 Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 i am using this since yesterday, no fc`s, seems smooth, a2sd with dalvik on sd, removed some files and added some here and there :) cheers and keep up the good work
Guest Michael Vegfruit Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Thanks, seems to be working well here.
Guest Total Eclipse Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 I'm struggling with Apps2SD on this - "a2sd check" gives dozens of lines, all similar to... /system/bin/chka2sd: line 76: /system/bin/busybox.a2sd: No such file or directory /system/bin/chka2sd: line 77: /data/dta2sd.log: Permission denied /system/bin/launcha2sd: line 44: /data/dta2sd.log: Permission denied ... however everything else fibblesan has included seems to be there. Upgraded from FLBmod 1.0 Also, has anyone else noticed that the default homepage is the Hungarian W'n'W page? It it worth upgrading to the official UK rom and then applying fibblesan's update?

Guest Total Eclipse Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 open terminal su ln -s /system/bin/busybox.a2sd /system/xbin/busybox will fix that and upload a fixed zip. Tried that, I get a message "ln: /system/xbin/busybox: File exists", and a2sd still doesn't work. I'll go ahead and apply the official update first and see whether that makes any difference. It's odd that underneath all this, it appears to have reverted to the HU ROM - I noticed that all my bookmarks had reset to the default Hungarian one too.

Guest onawall Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Uploaded r2 and posted to first page. Hopefully resolves issues with a2sd. Hi, I've installed r2 and a2sd still doesn't seem to work. a2sd check message is different to the original one (seems to be similar to Total Eclipses message). I tried repartitioning again with Rom Manager and the phone reboots now after doing that (it got stuck on the load screen after repartitioning on r1) but doesn't fix a2sd. Guest onawall Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Download the fixed ROM and flash again please or in ADB Shell do the following: su ln -s /system/xbin/busybox /system/bin/busybox.a2sd Thanks, flashed the fixed rom, still not woking and the 'a2sd check' has reverted back to showing something similar (maybe the same) as the first one I posted. I noticed you've posted a superboot to root the stock rom, I'll try that instead as that's all I'm looking for really.
Guest pandinusimp Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 I wiped now everything. But A2SD doesn't work. After flashing my internal phone memory was about 40MB. Installing Navigon from SD card, Internal memory was about 22MB. Installing "Toss It" (about 4mb) from market the phone memory is about 19MB. Somehow A2SD doesn't work here.
Guest scoobydoo99 Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 I've installed the UK T Mob 2.1 and it's working fine. Would like to try the custom ROM but can't get the Clockwork recovery to install. I've downloaded it but I get a popup screen telling me the phone must be rooted for ROM Manager to work - how do I root the phone to install the custom recovery to then install the custom ROM. Thanks

Not saying your app2sd is working but that drop after installing Navigon sounds about right, as I think it puts some big files in /data/data/ whether you have app2sd or not...
Guest MuhaJR Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 (edited) Maybe I'm the only one (or I missed something before), but in this ROM it's first time that I have WiFi as option for first-boot setup... Nice ROM, but FLB 1.31 has solved my problems. Finaly, I have working phone... Edited August 7, 2010 by MuhaJR
Guest fe2ng Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Can somebody tell me it is what difference between FLB and r2a?
Guest Total Eclipse Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Fibblesan, Your latest update works fine - thanks very much. Would it be possible to install the framework used in FLBmod 1.0? I prefer the slight green theme (as opposed to the heavily green theme in 1.2), and the amber text in TouchPal. (I realise that I could just re-install FLBmod 1.0, but I think my phone deserves a rest from all the flashing it's been subjected to recently :) ) I did install the official UK update in the end, so have the new partition sizes - I assume that if I did want to go back to FLBmod 1.0, I'd have to re-flash a Hu or Tre ROM to re-partition again? Thanks again!
Guest Simon O Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Can somebody tell me it is what difference between FLB and r2a? r2a is the stock T-Mobile ROM rooted.
