Guest kenelm Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Hearing that just makes me sick, be patient. I do this out of my own time. I had some things to tend to yesterday evening, and haven't gotten to finish the WiFi tethering, so I won't be releasing today, but rest assured, it will come. I'm planning on contacting Cyanogen so that the Liquid would be officially supported, as everything is in place and ready, I just need to add some cyanogen scripts to the source. Xian Great news! You're the ONE, Xian! Thanks for your effort!

Guest snmsfgm Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Excuse for my English. In it ROM will be 998MHz, and more powerful Wi-Fi?
Guest Rajit Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 If we do manage to get official with cyanogen, this would mean that we would see future cm versions on our liquid as well. That means that in due time we'll all be tasting some gingerbread!!! Now IMO that is the best part!!! what do u all think?
Guest xian1243 Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 That shouldn't be a problem, providing gingerbread is compatible with Acer's proprietary drivers... working on v1.2 ATM. I'll post a status update soon.

Guest sette7nani Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 xian..i ask you a think...but... isn't it possible to base your work on latest froyo leak (with all hardware working) and adding cyanogen mods? it's only a nuub question
Guest xian1243 Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 I build from source, so no. IMHO we don't need the froyo leak for a full working Froyo ROM. Just the camera and gps proprietary libraries. I don't base my ROMs on anything, the whole point is for it to be clean, and working without problems. Just wait for v1.2, and you'll see what I mean :) Camcorder is working good, 800x480 @ 30 FPS with auto-focus on touch

Guest Sewpra Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 This may sound extremely stupid so I do apologize, but I figured someone would answer these basic questions for me very fast, I'm using Xian's LiquidE ROM on top of .39 bin with 0.5.4 malezRecovery. My questions are, first, can the .bin ONLY be updated through AcerDownloadTool? If that was the case that would confirm that every time .bin is updated malezRecovery must be re-installed? Seems like a slight annoyance in my opinion. To my knowledge I can flash this current LiquidF ROM over Xian LiquidE, and have no problem at all, I'm just wondering if going through all the trouble of updating the .bin for the updated radio is worth it. Sorry if I come off as inexperienced with any incorrect info.
Guest xian1243 Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 You may want to update the radio one time or another, and I especially recommend flashing the latest radio (froyo), which IMO is better suited for a Froyo ROM (placebo effect? someone reported some things improving), and I do find that the battery usage is minimal using it (with LiquidF). Infact, you need to reflash Malez Recovery after flashing a .bin (can only be done with acer tool), but as you won't be flashing .bins every day, it should not be that big of a problem. Xian LiquidF can be flashed over Xian LiquidE, no problem. I hope to have answered your questions, don't hesitate to ask me to elaborate if needed.
Guest Rajit Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 All the bins have the standard android recovery with them that is flashed with them. So YES, you will have to flash malez reco everytime you flash a bin. And if I remember correctly, xian said a while back that this can be flashed over any bin and rom. Actually, whenever you flash a rom (like this) on a rom (with which it is compatible), all you are left with from the orignal rom is the baseband (assuming that the rest had been modified) by the cooker. So having the latest leak flashed on your phone in this case just has the advantage of providing you with the latest baseband (better signal). P.S. Please don't apologize for newb questions, everyone is a newb at one point and this is how we learn.
