Guest Dona' Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 APP2SD unfortunately isn't available yet ... I think you'll have to format the ext2 for your sdcard to work.
Guest Rajit Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) might be silly of me to ask, but all the cm6(.1) themes would work on this right??? cuz if not, i was really hoping someone could port this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=759990 Edited September 21, 2010 by Rajit
Guest Alexzandro Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) APP2SD unfortunately isn't available yet ... I think you'll have to format the ext2 for your sdcard to work. Apps2sd is native in FROYO, so look in CYANOGEN SETTINGS - APPS and set it accordingly, there is also another setting: where to store; after you will be able to switch every single app to SD in normal settings. No need to create partitions in SD Regards Edited September 21, 2010 by Alexzandro
Guest Dona' Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 I am not sure it works on CM Froyo or not ... Maybe I'm wrong.
Guest xian1243 Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 CM is based on Froyo, so it has APPS2SD built int! It works WITHOUT an EXT2 partition! I won't work WITH an EXT2 partition! It uses FAT! Froyo has no need for custom apps2sd as it is built in, just enable it in CyanogenMod settings!
Guest Dona' Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) Ok thanks for the heads-up. But there's something I don't understand on this blogpost there were many people asking for APPS2SD, why if it's already there ? (link to the blogpost : http://www.cyanogenmod.com/home/whats-up-w...page-1#comments) Edited September 21, 2010 by Dona'
Guest xian1243 Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 They're asking for APPS2EXT (old method), not APPS2SD (which uses FAT on Froyo).
Guest botolo Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 They're asking for APPS2EXT (old method), not APPS2SD (which uses FAT on Froyo). Boy, did you finish your essay before turn on that damn computer?
Guest elgubbo Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 Boy, did you finish your essay before turn on that damn computer? writing an essay WITHOUT a computer is so 1999 :)
Guest mmick Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 Xian, what is stopping the v1.2 to come out? The light sensor and wifi? Isn´t it possible to "drink water" from the leak?
Guest better12hk Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Acer_Liquid_froyo_4.502e.00_EMEA-GEN1_05.01.03 is comming
Guest xian1243 Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 The new Froyo leak may provide with some ideas, who knows, but actually WiFi IS working, tethering is the problrm and also is the proximity sensor... I also have a lot of asssignments to finish, rest assured though, my spare time is working on tethering I'll be offline for a bit, wait for a fully featured ROM, and pretty soon, you'll be getting updates directly on your phoe, and from Cyanogen  Xian Sent from my Acer Liquid
Guest wytek Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 (edited) and pretty soon, you'll be getting updates directly on your phoe, and from Cyanogen that's what i'm waiting for!!! :) Edited September 22, 2010 by wytek

Guest xian1243 Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 I write on paper... :) I have the afternoon to chill now
Guest Wendigogo Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 (edited) They're asking for APPS2EXT (old method), not APPS2SD (which uses FAT on Froyo).Which is imho the best way of putting apps on SD. First, *every* app is stored (not depending of apps or if there's widget etc.) Second, ext is faster and safier than fat (troll inside ?) Third, I don't know how it works but when sdcard is mounted, is apps always executables (I mean there is two simultaneous access by two different operating systems ...) Fourth, and MOST important, apps are not visible when SD is mounted : some users may delete apps to gain space while unknowing what it was ... PS : I don't know how to try this CM port ? Is there a tutorial or something ? Edited September 22, 2010 by Wendigogo
Guest xian1243 Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Froyo apps2sd is marter than you think, your apps don't disaear when your SD card is mounted elsewhere... partitioning an SD card is just a plain bad idea. But of course, believe what you like. You can have all apps on your SD card, you just need to set it in settings.

Is there a tutorial or something ? The only problem with ext (in my opinion should be XFS) is that only Linux machines will recognize the SD-Card when mounted in 89% of the cases, the other 11% users that are using fuse on both Mac and the other system the name was something like 'fenêtres' But despise of all this, anything that is not FAT would be better. Guest Wendigogo Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 (edited) Like XFS too, but well, for "static" datas ext2 is enough and robust (it *was* a troll in my previous post :) ). I think it's NOT a problem that people doesn't have easy access to this partition. For me "it's a feature !" (natural protection from dummies). EDIT : thanks Xian for answering and for your great work ! Would like to test it but I don't know how to do that. Some help please ? Guest Splux Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Works fine with the latest Froyo leak, if someone wonders:)
Guest xian1243 Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 (edited) Currently building new camera libraries, thanks to cyanogen's help :) Which means that everything is taken care of now except for the proximity sensor and WiFi tethering! Release once everything is thoroughly tested (and of course, the changes work), and once I get the chance to pack it up! Keep an eye out in the weeks following v1.2 release, which will be my last CyanogenMod release under the Xian name. I will then be maintaining the ROM through Cyanogen's github, and Liquid ROMs will be built and hosted over there. That means, that I'll be concentrating on perfecting the vendor tree, after that, I don't know what to do. :( Back to ROM cooking? Guest IvoSilva Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Ok, this might seem a stupid question, but I really just don't understand. If I have the latest froyo leak installed, and it has the Proximity Sensor working correctly, will it just break if I install CM6 over it?
Guest xian1243 Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Yes, for the moment, the proximity sensor is not working in CM6, but of course, that's subject to change (it's a WIP).
Guest IvoSilva Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 Yes, for the moment, the proximity sensor is not working in CM6, but of course, that's subject to change (it's a WIP). So if the Proximity Sensor isn't working, how do I activate the phone during a call?
