Hi Xian,

Just a quick note. I noticed this commit:

"Not committing any code, but rather correcting my last commit's message. -> Fixed vendorsetup.sh for CyanogenMod build (added cyanogen_liquid to lunch_combo)."

Are you aware of "git commit --amend"?

Thanks for all the work on this, by the way! I haven't tried it yet (I'm downloading v1 right now) but it sounds very promising, and it appears you have given us official CM support, so thank you heaps for your work!

alot of text written here..

Just a question; is there any way to enable vibrating when someone calls? Atm it just doesn't want to vibrate and I can't find anything in settings to enable it..

Thanks grooltor.. tried the metallic one.

But it does not change the Dial(phone) Screen. is it meant to be that way?

Yes, as I said in the note

Push the file attached here to change the look of Phone (use the same procedure as the previous post, but this time the file is /system/app/Phone.apk).

As a general rule, you can download and use every theme designed for CM6 and N1 (final or RC3). The only thing to do BEFORE applying a theme is to extract framework-res.apk, convert it with Theme Porter (look a the previous post for link), repack the zip and flash it from reco (remember to do a nandroid backup first). This because the only difference between N1 and our Liquid is in that framework-res.apk (yes, has double the RAM and so on... I'm talking about software B) ). Other APKs should install without problem.

Froyo doesn't recognize ext partition, so if you used APP2SD before your SD could have an ext partition in it. Simply backup everything on your SD and repartion it.

oh i thought it would work, because the sd card worked with the Froyo leaks.

why is that?

CyanogenMod 6 is based on froyo, so yes. Btw, xian, where are you? Have you done any step forward?

Really? I didn´t know...

I don´t understand the sensible guys that say "oh don´t ask him things, oh don´t bother his zen moment...". Xian (and every other cooker, code-genius) answer if they can, if they will, if they bother. They need noone cleaning their feet  No harm intended y2whisper (or other guys), but I have to express my dislikings when people answer for other people.

The same happened to em in the first time I made a backup of my sd using th adaptor that Acer sent together. Than I formatted the SD and recovered my backup.

Annoying .. yep, but worked.

OMG, all devs are dead!!

The scene is completely dead except for the MIUI port (excellent port tough). We don't have a FINAL rom based on the latest froyo bin, we don't have psfreedom (I know, there are compiling issues, but wtf, only one person tried? No one is trying to fix this...? Lots of devices already have this!), last post of xian about cyanogen is almost a week ago, and what we have so far is a ROM that, for the majority of us is awesome, but UNUSABLE for DAILY USE. I appreciate all the hard work of the devs, but, ATM the scene is almost STOPPED and I can't figure out why. We don't have a fully functional eclair kernel, why the hell a dev doesn't ask help from external developers that already managed to get a FULLY working kernel for other (similar) devices? Android is the same for all devices, the way drives are managed is the same for EVERY device...

I really appreciate what we have so far but I feel the scene is stopped.

Guys,

WAKE UP!

OMG, all devs are dead!!

Well, September is a heavy month: schools, universities, etc start right now and maybe devs are students or are heaving something to do right now *but* I agree with you on some things:

- other devices are somewhat similar and devs had to overcome some issues too so... Liquid devs can ask their opinion/advice

- most ROMs are somewhat stopped (at least for us final users) and devs are a bit shy to say what´s going on, what they are doing or...anything

I also find strange why with 2 or 3 Froyo leaks devs are still beating on the Eclair ROM when these Froyo leaks are of such high quality and stable. Time to move on and do some "Froyo Magic"!

Man, you really don't know what you speak about. Let's dev's have a life, and live yours.

Dev's do not owe you anything.

FYI, there are many fully working Eclair kernel.

"why the hell a dev doesn't ask help from external developers that already managed to get a FULLY working kernel for other (similar) devices?"

That's not so easy.

To let you kn ow, eople like you do not give me a desire to develop.

I'm trying to set up dev machine - what's the prefered choice Linux or Windoze? Also is Eclipse all that good ? Any pointers or links will be greatly appreciated...

Cheers

@Andrea1Liquid: xian isn't giving updates often because he spends a lot of time doing schoolwork.

when he has school work to do he can't work on this rom, and even when he can it's quite a lot of work to get everything usable.

most work on this rom get's done in the weekend, and he just had a busy weekend.

phh doesn't work on roms much more because his main reason for working on a rom was so we could get froyo, something acer is doing for us now.

Vache, don't be too hard on him... he's just disappointed. Many of us are waiting for a "stable" realease, and sometimes someone goes slightly mad about this. I don't think he meant to "destroy" anything

We all like what you devs are doing for the community and I'm glad to see that our Liquid is one of the most followed phones here on MoDaCo (Desire's forum has 28k replies, we're at 25k with Hero and N1 is only at 19k, while Pulse beats all with 39k). So please don't be fool, Andrea1Liquid should have more patience and you Vache should not mind about that.

Keep up the good work!
