Guest Phonenut
Hi all, For some reason I cannot figure this out. I have got GPS activated and the icon at the top of the screen confirms it is working, yet I cannot see anywhere in the menus or settings how to actually display my location. Do I need to sign up with Google for this option to become available? This version comes with Google maps. But I would still need to know whereabouts within the phone menus/settings my location is actually shown! Many thanks for any help!

Guest Phonenut
you should be able to press menu and find my location on google maps When I go to Google Maps, I get their maps up on the screen, but that is all. There is no "find my location" button/tab/option anywhere to be seen. Whereabouts is this "find my location" option to be found?
Guest RottenFoxBreath
Press the "Menu" touch sensor button(The one on the left, if you never bothered to read the manual), when in Google Maps, and it's right there bottom left, "My Location". Hey thanks, man. It now shows up. Do you find the GPS on this phone is pretty accurate?
Guest RottenFoxBreath
Yeh, it's as accurate as any other..but your apps/navigation programmes can affect it, such as not working right or glitching..but usually it's just an issue with the app itself. Works fine with Copilot 8, Sygic Maps 10, and Google Nav just fine.

Tried to find some online sources from LG support but all I get is some page saying "we will inform you when LG releases a proper manual" which is a bit of a downer. If anyone knows of a link to the full user manual online, can they please post it? Thanks!
Guest RottenFoxBreath
The only online ones I've seen are here : http://www.lg.com/uk/microsite/GT540/index.jsp and here : http://www.selflearning.co.uk/vodafone/faq...G-GT540-faq.swf

But they're basically just introductions. The previous phone I had (a Samsung 8500 Wave) had a great manual about half the size of the Yellow Pages. But its GPS was useless; couldn't pick up a single satellite even under ideal conditions. Had to take it back. My biggest beef with the LG is that the display is too "catchy". You only want to swish between screens, but end up activating an application. It's too sensitive and there's no adjustment so far as I know. Still, no phone is perfect!
