Guest cubens Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 Please could someone provide me a nandroid backup of this bin so i could make the recovery compatible with it ? I think malez recovery 0.5.4 could not be compatibible as it is not with Liquid E ferrari Baseband : A1-04.03.06 Build : Acer_LiquidE_1.100.67_AAP_G2F If recovery is compatible, please tell me malez 0.5.4 is compatible. But here is a nandroid backup: http://www.multiupload.com/F9UO618HOM hope this helps
Guest vikings123 Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 The BIN failed to flash (using AcerTools). That did surprise me. This was the first time that I could not flash a BIN file by AcerTools. The process stopped because of Fastboot Failure. I tried again and got the same result. I had to use the Setup.exe that came with the package to complete the ROM installation. After that, everything is fine. I used OC (998Mhz) from Xian -- but needed to apply WiFi_Fix to fix WiFi problem. Not much difference between FET and CAR1 except all FET Apps were removed.
Guest Youngblood95 Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 I got Malez recovery working with the FET .63 bin, so I would assume that it is compatible...
Guest vikings123 Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 (edited) i havent done anything yet man sorry just curious if it works Malez Recovery 0.5.4 is working fine. I used it to root this ROM. And Backup/Restore is working OK too. The only problem I have encountered is the WiFi. But it was caused by the OC kernel (998Mhz by Xian). After flashed WiFi_fix (by Xian too) WiFi is working. Thanks Xian. Edited August 14, 2010 by vikings123

Did you flashed .63car over .63fet? I can't, process is stopped because car isn't compatible with fet installed on my device...

Guest Chen Kai Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 Did you flashed .63car over .63fet? I can't, process is stopped because car isn't compatible with fet installed on my device... You should use Acer Download Tool with the Bin file of 1.100.63.AAP.CAR1.

You can not flash the new ROM, as what we do with MOD ROM. You must either use AcerTools or the Setup.exe (that come with the whole package) to flash the new BIN. BIN is different from ROM. In terms of PC, you may treat BIN as firmware (with BIOS) , but with OS/Apps. MOD ROM is more like OS/Apps. (This might not be a very appropriate way to describe the differences between BIN and MOD ROM). So, you need to use AcerTools to flash the BIN first. Then you can use Malez's Recovery to flash MOD ROM or other stuffs.
Guest akira.pwr Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 (edited) I have done what you said, I have flashed from setup.exe of .63car folder, but it show the message: you can't update your device with this image, download the right image for your device, the right image is: FET. (translation is mine :D ) It seems I cant flash a .63car over .63fet. Edited August 14, 2010 by akira.pwr

Maybe that's why it failed to fastboot when I first flashed CAR1. But, with CAR1 partially flashed, I used setup.exe to flash CAR1 again and it worked.

But in my case, I cannot start flash, it block before to rtart. Maybe I have to revert to official eclair and then to this bin.
Guest vikings123 Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 But in my case, I cannot start flash, it block before to rtart. Maybe I have to revert to official eclair and then to this bin. What I did , as I stated in my last post, I used AcerTools to flash the CAR1 BIN. It failed to fastboot. I had to remove battery and put it back (without USB connected). I tried the same procedure twice (using AcerTools to flash CAR1 BIN) and all failed at the point of FASTBOOT. After reconnected the USB cable, I used Setup.exe that came with the CAR1 package to flash the new ROM and it worked perfectly. Period.
Guest vanahaim Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 Anyone thinking about creating of UV-OC boot? Thanks!
