Tried to update my UK set to 2.1 but was given error : FOTA mismatch. My baseband version is GAUSB1A110700-EU

Can some kind soul advice where and which update is correct for my set?

My Streak is locked to O2 and I am using RebelSim to get on the Orange network

Is any one using this update to 2.1 with RebelSim?

And if so are there any special steps?

How long ago did you get your Rebel Simcard? Are you using 3G networks with your Rebel Simcard?

Not sure if the link has been pulled or even if the site has been taken down as I cant even check for updates now on 2.1, the page just times out. Does it do this on 1.6 as well ??

I ordered my RebelSim ver 1.1 on Monday, 21 June 2010 and received it a few days later.

I have never had 3G working successfully RebelSim ver 1.1 :D

I complained to RebelSim after buying it that it did not work as described on the website as 3G was not successful.

They told be by email that once the process was perfected that existing customers would get a FREE upgrade. ;)

Now they have released version 1.2 which their website says is full 3G so I have asked them for my FREE upgrade as per their email. :D

They are telling me now that I have to either by the upgrade kit or a new RebelSim. ;)

So I have written back telling them if I do not get a satisfactory resolution to my issue then I will have no choice but to take it up with Trading Standards.

I am still waiting to hear back from them. :D

I would advise any one / every one to think twice before giving RebelSim any of your hard earned cash.

Once they have got your money they don't care about you.

- mounted the SD card via USB

- renamed the package in Update.pkg (upper case U as advised)

- copied the package from the PC to the SD card

- unmounted the SD card from the PC

- powered off the phone

- powered on the phone while holding vol up+vol down

- chooosen to update

And it failed to see the update.

- renamed the package update.pkg (lower case u)

- powered off the phone

- powered on the phone while holding vol up+vol down

- chooosen to update

This time the update went ahead no problems.

Much faster / smoother.

Love the changes and new features.

Tell them you are on MOdaco and have seen their post about free upgrades to 1.2 firmware. Your probly just getting a reply from one of his employees. I can only imagine that the guy who wrote on the other thread was the owner of the company

& finally applied on mine 00-EU Phonehouse unlocked version, the recovery img from this post: http://android.modaco.com/content/dell-str...very-downloads/

&... tada !!! was able finally to upgrade to 2.1 & the FOTA error disappeared !

The story is finally : the recovery image must be from the same country as the rom you want to flash !

Personnaly tried everything on this page, & as said in my post above, my phone was not modified, it was a EU-00 factory version....

The standard/factory recovery gave me a FOTA error like some people here...

anyway, only the Clock world recovery 1.8 was partially working... because : black screen in the 2) upgrade menu

Clock world recovery 2.5 gave a full black screen from its begining !

so I tried the another factory recovery img from the link I gave just above your post... which is different from mine because yours comes from 21 country...

&... as I said, it appears to be able to full flash the Update.pkg 21 uk version ! that's why I said that it appears that on some phone, there is a recovery limitation... I suppose the one you were also talking in your post... & that you have to set the corresponding country recovery img to the Upgrade.pkg...
