Guest Ellia Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 How do I see wether I have a Class-4 SD Card or not? I have a 8-GB SD-card in my phone, is that class-4 or doesn't say that anything? Have a look on the card. In most cases the (minimum) class is printed on it. But you can also download a sd-card-speedtest in the market and calculate the real speed of the card.
Guest tunat Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 Because Dalvik Cache is still on the Internal Storage. What class SD Card do you have? If it's Class 4 then you can move the cache to the SD Card as well which would solve your issue. If you have a class 4 SD Card, run a terminal emulator and run the following: (can be done thrugh adb but I'm not sure hpw to do it that way) su {enter} a2sd cachesd {enter} Reboot your phone. If your SD card is below Class 4 then doing this would slow down your phone possibly making it unusable. Yes, we know your using this ROM. micro pq1 sd hc 4 gb then letter C and inside that letter is number 6
Guest JohnPorter Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 micro pq1 sd hc 4 gb then letter C and inside that letter is number 6 Sounds like you have a Class 6 Card, so you should be able to move the Dalvik Cache to your SD Card. Follow the instructions in my previous post to do this. Test and see what happens

And i absolutely hate setting up my phone. So much details and tiny set-ups. I just want to rest from that for a few days and than I'll probably try J-MOD :D
Guest JohnPorter Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 if i can get a terminal emulator working with this rom, then there will be a new release within the next couple of days.
Guest Simon O Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 if i can get a terminal emulator working with this rom, then there will be a new release within the next couple of days. Easy enough. Add Term.apk to /system/app/ and libandroidterm.so to /system/lib/ the lib file can be extracted from inside the Term.apk.

Ah...didn't realise that, added term.apk but got a fc when i tried to use it when i was testing last night.... Thanks Flibble...

I'll do some testing with that game if I can. I have a question, is there anyway of testing ROMs without having to flash them to my phone everytime? I do realise I'll have to do that to test it properly but just it might be easier using a emulator of some sort?
Guest JohnPorter Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 (edited) Edging closer and closer to a new release, just want to try and resolve an issue before I release it, if it's not simple then I may wait till the next version to implement it and release v1.1 sooner. The ROM uses the Stock Launcher as default and when you go to the Wallpaper Gallery, you get 3 wallpapers and lots blank entries in there, where are the wallpapers stored? Can I delete these or remove the wallpaper gallery component altogether? Edit: Ignore this I've found it! Edited August 19, 2010 by JohnPorter

Guest JohnPorter Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 (edited) tell us how The three wallpapers that show in the gallery are in the launcher.apk file. Now I need to look into reducing the number of blank entries or actually putting new wallpapers in there. Either way this should be simple to solve so I'm going to delay v1.1 till I've done this. Edit: Might be harder than I thought if added more wallpapers doesn't work, can't seen to view or edit the xml i think you need to modify, they appear to be encoded.....hmmmmm After v1.1, I will be doing the add-ons to allow people to change launchers to ADW or LauncherPro if they wish. After that I need to stop work for a short while I learn more about this etc....all I've done so far is a customise a custom rom created by someone else, so I want to go and see what's involved from the beginning to see if there are any tweaks I can make to this ROM. I will be here to support this rom in the meantime. If anyone has any links to material I should be reading then please don't hesitate to post them here. Edited August 19, 2010 by JohnPorter
