Another Kies Feature (bug)

Yet another Kies problem here.

Had added a few calendar entries to Outlook and also a couple on the phone over the past few weeks (would normally sync every couple of days on previous phones but it's such a nighmare getting it to connect to Kies I don't bother very often) so did an Outlook sync.

Somehow Kies managed to delete 95% of the calendar entries in Outlook, no errors or anything just all dissappeared. Luckily i'd taken a backup of my Outlook data files the week before so I could recover it.

Getting sorely tempted to take this phone back under the unfit for purpose banner as it's just showing more and more problems. GPS is rubbish for accuracy, Lag is horrendous sometimes, Kies rarely works, it wiped my SD card somehow after shooting a video (tested the SD card for hours after on the pc and it was faultless and has been fine since), case has scratched stupidly easily along with the centre button, signal is all over the place so data is unstable compared to my old HD on same simcard\provider.

Ok I could fix some of these problems with rooting\re-flashing but not all of them and should I have to root\flash to get a correctly working device?

If it wasn't for the poor video performance problems of the old TouchHD i'd be back on that right now, after 18 months use there's hardly a mark on that (the samsung looks older than my HD already).

Rant over :D

NEVER SYNC galaxy s v2.1 with outlook calendar, the first time it syncs with no input to phone, second time you get all calendar deleted, but you still can drag calendar entries from deleted items and drop them on the calendar icon below, and everything will restore back.

use KIES only for contacts.

it took me some hours but now calendar also works. check more details on one of my late posts on the way you can safely sync calendar without gmail inbetween.

ps. I did try v2.2 jp3 and calendar sync with KIES worked, but till next time v2.2 is stable.. companionlink is the only way.

regards.
