Guest FactionOne Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 (edited) Hi Guys n Gals, I'm hoping someone can help me out... I use Core Player (for MP3/XVid etc. playback), and SPB Radio (to stream to Test Match Sofa!); but I've got a couple of (probably connected) little problems with them at the moment. Core Player has a 'Blank Screen' option - If I'm listening to a playlist of MP3s, and hit the 'Blank Screen' control, the screen on my O2 goes blank only for a second, the keys lock (I get the lock screen), and the display goes dim (never fully off though)... SPB Radio has a 'Screen Off' option - If I press this when listening to a stream, the display does go off, and the keys lock... ...BUT!... BOTH programs suffer a weird little problem - every few seconds I get a pause in the audio - for perhaps 1 second, but it happens repeatedly, every few seconds. It kinda spoils the listening experience a litte - of course the work-around is to leave the screen on; but this means a) it's easy to press buttons in my pocket, and :D because the screen is on/at normal brightness so the battery drains much quicker than it would. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know how to patch/resolve/fix this problem? I'm running twu2's NXXJE1 Lite 6.5.3 ROM - perhaps behaviour is different on other ROMs? Thanks for any help/suggestions! Rob. --------------------------------------------------- EDIT: (Solved) Go into the Samsung Settings, Display & Light, <View More> Lock Screen - Disable 'Lock when device is woken up'. Go find S2U2 (2.43 at time of writing). Install S2U2. Go to Advanced Settings, set 'Don't Suspend Power' to 'On' - Save Settings. Behaviour is now that: 1) In Core Player the 'Blank Screen' option causes the device to lock (with S2U2), and after a few seconds, the screen goes blank. Everything's locked-up and audio continues to play without a hitch! Pressing the (un)lock hardware button wakes the screen with S2U2 doing its job. Result! :D 2) In SPB Radio the 'Screen Off' option causes the screen to go blank immediately, but audio continues to play without a hitch! Pressing the (un)lock hardware button wakes the screen with S2US doing its job. Result! :D 3) In either app (and of course any other app not in S2U2's exclusions list), pressing the (un)lock hardware button causes the device to drop to suspend/standby/sleep/whatever - audio stops, and WiFi disconnects; so there's still easy access to a 'proper' low power state. Result! ;) Long live S2U2!!! Edited August 18, 2010 by FactionOne
