Guest rutgervvh Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 (edited) I experience a lot of fluctuation in the signal strength of the antenna of the Galaxy S. Without touching the phone, the signal sometimes drops from from 3 to 1 or even from 4 to 0... Is this a know issue with this phone? My phone has stock firmware. Edit: when the phone is only on 2G networks, not problems at all..., fully connected, seems to be an 3g problem. Edited August 20, 2010 by rutgervvh

Guest Astridax Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 Nope I have this problem too. I thought the newer firmwares were meant to fix this, but they didn't. I get 3g signal problems, Most areas it is difficult to grab it, making google maps next to useless. In addition I have also had big problems with wifi signal.
Guest DistortedLoop Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 Might be helpful if you guys mentioned where you are. I notice that on 3G my signal bars fluctuate, but even with zero bars displayed, I never miss a call, and the bars always come back when I make a call or start using data. This is in Los Angeles, AT&T...which is probably the problem, even iPhone owners hate AT&T, thought they're probably the cause of AT&T service issues. LOL

Confirmed for Germany --- E.Plus ---- fluctuate from 3 to 0 bars..... but no loss of signal (except due to real signal loss  -- but then fallback to 2g is OK ) XXJP3
Guest Seth Cold Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 yup happens with Tigo in Colombia also... then again no prob in making calls or call quality
