Guest pike8 Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 i have bought my i8000, and it being my first WM device, i don't know how to connect to internet. i have got GPRS configuration message from my operator. however, when i try to connect either with opera or IE, it says that it connects to t-mobile (not available in my country), and then error pops up. also, i connected to wi-fi, but it still wants to connect to t-mobile. could someone please help me?
Guest Dado... Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 did you buy already used phone on t-mobile network? maybe operator send you wrong configuration SMS.... try ask for explanation in email message for manual configuration go to Start - Settings - Advanced Settings (click on second tab) - Browser Connection (here you select which network use browser, Work is for WiFi, WAP is for gprs, torn off automatic detection) - Connections - Advanced - Select Networks under Programs that automatically connect to the Internet.... select My Work for WiFi, or My WAP Networks (or maybe other name) for gprs also if you from Bosnia, go here http://www.red-gsm.net/t40402/

Guest pike8 Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 What are the details of your ROM ?? Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional CE OS 5.2.21856 (Build 21856.5.0.65) Had the same T-mobile config. It comes when the phone is coming from Germany. Simply download and open any registry editor for wm, search for T-mobile and remove these registry entries. Do not forget to backup registry just in case... now i've discovered another problem. when i connect the phone via USB, it freezes. i've tried to change usb connection type from activesync to my storage, but it didn't help either. so i can't install anything on the phone. but let's assume i overcome this problem; should i delete all listed operators from registry (o2, vodafone...)? and is it ok that my operator isn't shown in settings/basic/network/operator settings/; does it mean that the phone is locked?
Guest abdelrahim Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 What is the CSC of your ROM ?? Have you tried to hard reset??
Guest pike8 Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 What is the CSC of your ROM ?? Have you tried to hard reset?? im' sorry, but i don't know what's a CSC; this is my first WM device. and yes, i've tried hard reset. also, i've found some of those secret codes; one of them is for checking whether your phone is locked. i've entered it and four locking options were shown, all of them disabled. so this should mean my phone isn't locked, or...?
Guest pike8 Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 i've entered this code *#7465625#, and a menu showed with five locking options, all of them disabled. does it mean for sure my phone is not locked in any way?

If so maybe a previous owner had flashed it with a different csc+bin file? You can always search on the forums for the default csc+bin file. But if it is bought from your carrier's store you can take it to them and ask to look into the problem. Also if you havent tried you can do a hardware reset.
Guest pike8 Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 (edited) the phone is brand new. never mind, i've taken it to a store; they tried to flash it, but it couldn't be done due to freezing, so i'll get a new one in a few days. thanks for your replies. Edited August 26, 2010 by pike8
