Guest coxblox Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 It certainly is specific! Yet doesn't tell me if flash 10 works or not!!
Guest mzsigler Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 It certainly is specific! Yet doesn't tell me if flash 10 works or not!! Full flash 10.1? Still froyo only as far as I know, so no, since this an eclair build.
Guest fards Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 I unyaffs'ed both a 6941 system.img and a 7546 system.img and ran a diff --recursive, here's what's different, in very specific terms, lol http://pastebin.com/n7L9x455 rofl, I was going to do the same thing when I got to work.. just sat down to check, now I'm here and read you'd done it already
Guest mzsigler Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 rofl, I was going to do the same thing when I got to work.. just sat down to check, now I'm here and read you'd done it already  lol, I'm a noob here, figure I should contribute something
Guest fards Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 lol, I'm a noob here, figure I should contribute something seems strange there's no quickoffice if its a final build, Greenarches did you take out that and the RSS and touchdown? anything else you cleaned if so? ] wiper? mminfo? or weren't they in this one? LOL I'm that sad that I like to look at the changes before I even flash it..
Guest jamezwarner Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 Was tempted to give this a go, but I need touchdown and quickoffice  James
Guest Paul Brown Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 Thanks very much for the Nandroid! Just flashed it to my streak and all appears good! Just wondering though, do we need to flash this new Recovery.img to our streaks too?
Guest mzsigler Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 (edited) Thanks very much for the Nandroid! Just flashed it to my streak and all appears good! Just wondering though, do we need to flash this new Recovery.img to our streaks too? I didn't see any reason to, so I didn't. edit - actually you do need to reflash the recovery, I'll edit my prior post. Edited August 26, 2010 by mzsigler
Guest jamezwarner Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 # < ro.build.oemversion.main=GAUSB1A120421 # --- # > ro.build.oemversion.main=GAUSB1A120321 Is this a problem?

Guest Paul Brown Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 Only problem i've seen on mine is the home and other 2 buttons are flashing then going off after a short while. Any idea why this is happening?
Guest fards Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 Only problem i've seen on mine is the home and other 2 buttons are flashing then going off after a short while. Any idea why this is happening? you haven't changed anything and you flashed all three partitions?
Guest jamezwarner Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 OK seems sucessful, however all my old apps are still there - is this expected? My back/home/menu keys also seem to like flashing, especially during boot...
Guest Greenarcher Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 This is a completely untouched nandroid backup so anything that's missing is not my work lol.

Guest Paul Brown Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 you haven't changed anything and you flashed all three partitions? i followed the instructions that you posted on page 5, went into fastboot and flashed System and Boot. Seems after a while, they flash and go off, but when i lock the screen and unlock it again, they turn on again?
Guest mzsigler Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 OK seems sucessful, however all my old apps are still there - is this expected? My back/home/menu keys also seem to like flashing, especially during boot... Yeah, your data should be there, you didn't wipe/flash data
Guest jamezwarner Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 Everything still seems OK, facebook contacts bug appears to still be present, though my screen switches off properly when locked now (so far!)
Guest fards Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 if you're getting flashing buttons then try a factory reset or dalvik-cache wipe? Still haven't flashed it
Guest mzsigler Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 if you're getting flashing buttons then try a factory reset or dalvik-cache wipe? Still haven't flashed it  Are you sure we aren't related? Looks like you have to redo the fix to keep 2.1 from writing over clockwork recovery, I'm doing that right now so I can wipe dalvik, lol. Wait, we can't be related, I'm not a sissy that's waiting to flash it ;)
Guest Paul Brown Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 Tried a factory reset, it's still happening. I'm debating whether to try and flash the recovery. Flashing recovery wont have any effect on updating in the future will it? I've not tried a Dalvik-Cache wipe yet.
Guest fards Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 (edited) nandroid restore deletes the partitions first, before maybe we should do that? fastboot erase boot fastboot erase recovery fastboot flash system system.img fastboot flash boot boot.img fastboot flash userdata data.img ***Ignore as we don't have it*** fastboot flash recovery recovery.img fastboot reboot dalvik cache is in the /data so I presume it would get wiped during factory restore. Guest jamezwarner Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 (edited) I have flashed all 3 and still have the flashing button issue, it seems to only do it after being idle for a period - or after changing the brightness (the buttons light up to show how bright they are during adjustment and then flash before turning off again) Can the original submitter confirm this behaviour on the "originally" updated phone? Fixes: no auto lock on phonecall finish new green spectrum graphic behind android logo during call James Edited August 26, 2010 by jamezwarner
Guest Paul Brown Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 I can't do an erase it seems, all i get when i type fastboot erase boot is: < Waiting for device > Never had it come up before, confusing stuff
