Guest jimmymagix Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 I really like that new radio. Normal usage I'd be sitting on about 20% now and I'm up at 65%. GPS took a while to lock on however.
Guest Nsonic101 Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 Two reasons why this might be happening. First make sure only one version of Google Maps is installed. Don't do what I did and install the stock maps and the squrl brut version. And second, do a wipe when you install. The first time I installed this ROM I ticked both versions of maps and didn't wipe. I was loosing maps every time I rebooted. The second time I only installed the stock maps and did a wipe. Now everything works fine. Worth a try? you must wipe before flashing. I had the same problem so I wiped and reflashed and now it's ok...
Guest Matty Dee Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 (edited) Anyone having market issues, are you also having any issues with twitter? Apps kept failing to download and when I go to accounts & sync and try to add twitter it says password is wrong yet if I put it in the official twitter app or in the web browser it works every time! Flashed the rom again and wiped the lot but still the same  edit Seems it's because Twitter has changed to OAuth.. Just gotta wait for HTC to update now! http://www.wired.com/epicenter/2010/08/twitter-moves-to-oauth-the-oauthcalypse-is-nigh/ Edited August 31, 2010 by Matty Dee

Guest Grobie Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 HI I don't know if this is related to the new radio thats been release but it seems that my Market is working again. I still had problems yesterday, I only flash the new radio last night late (5.10.05.23) and this morning downloaded 6 apps without a problem. Can someone Please Confirm. Grobie
Guest Exlo Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 (edited) Nope, still "install failed" after downloading from market... Installed the new radio last night too... Edited September 1, 2010 by Exlo
Guest bbawden Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Just a word of caution for people using Tasker. Since I flashed radio 32.46.00.32U_5.10.05.17_2 Tasker has been unable to control Bluetooth. I flashed 32.47.00.32U_5.10.05.23 and it works again.
Guest Paul Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Wow, lots to catch up on. Hi all! P
Guest EddyOS Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Hey Paul!! New Releases of the 2.2 ROMs, both UK-based and overseas so I'm sure there are things that can be taken into r9...
Guest RevoWution Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Been using r8 for a few weeks now, and it's brilliant 99% of the time! However, has anybody else noticed an intermittent lag when typing? I'm not sure if this is an r8-wide thing, or just a bug with the HTC IME mod, but it's quite noticeable, particularly when one is typing fast ;)
Guest monkey_nutts Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Welcome back Paul, Hope you had some nice down time. Been using RC1 for what feels like an age now, all working perfectly. Big thanks and look forwards to R9 !
Guest LouiS22 Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Wow, lots to catch up on. Hi all! P Hi man!
Guest Sky14 Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Feature request: Would it be possible to add the power control widget used by cyanogenmod (developed by Piafinho) to the next release?
Guest wouzer Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Been using R8 for some time now, without problems, except one. After using Google Navigation for a few miles/kilometers my phone reboots? Anyone know what this is about? Thnx

After using Google Navigation for a few miles/kilometers my phone reboots? Anyone know what this is about? Thnx Is it possible that you go to the roaming or from 2G to 3G when it happens ? It happens to me with all ROMs (2.1 also) in case of leaving my home network. GPS lock is lost and after that phone usually reboots, doesn't matter what navigation software is running.
Guest The Virus 2013 Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Hey all ! Just performed a full wipe including dalvik cache, then partition SD with ROM Manager (512 + 0 swap) and then reflash with a R8 with A2SD+. Everything is fine, but I only have about 100mo of free memory on the phone... normally it is about 600Mo no ? At least, I have to see the new 512 mo I've hadded ? Thank you

When I put the SD directly in a Linux PC, I see the Fat32 and the Ext3 partitions right. On the Ext3, I have an "app" folder with apps in it, I also have a dalvik-cache folder with stuffs... so it seems that A2SD+ is working no ? But I have more than 300mo of free space just on the Ext3, so why Android just tell me 100Mo of free space on the phone ? Thanks... Edited September 1, 2010 by The Virus 2013
Guest EddyOS Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 As it only reports phone internal storage, NOT A2SD storage...
Guest Epedemic Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Feature request in R9: Change ro.ril.hsupa.category=5 to ro.ril.hsupa.category=6 in build.prop (2 places). Gives greatly increased upload speeds (theoretically 5.76 mbps, practically 3.5mbps) and reduced latency ( down by ~20ms) on supported networks. Should not do anything if network doesn't support it (in DK we have this in some of the network, in parts where it is not availible we just get the normal 1.4mbps). May use a bit more battery, but not noticable.
Guest The Virus 2013 Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 As it only reports phone internal storage, NOT A2SD storage... Thank you, I've read on some websites that it shows the entire storage, like if it was part of the phone. So I was surprised to not see all. Anyway it seems to work great so I'll let it like that and see when I install apps if the memory decrease or not.

It shows you both internal and A2SD (and a whole bunch of other stuff)
Guest fodiator Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Hi, unfortunately no chance to download a custom ROM. When hitting the "Bake" button, browser (FF) waits ~15secs and then loads the Android news page. Have tried several times ensuring I'm logged in. Regards
