yes... still no sign of governor entries

I turned off juice defender incase that was causing an issue, but it hasn't changed anything.

I had the same issue, but I fixed by chmod'ing the permissions on the two new init.d scripts to 755.

Obviously this was done via ADB whilst in recovery.

Dave

I updated (my first post) the signed_power_update.zip to set 755 on the init.d scripts. Still I can't test it here.

Hey, to save me reading everything could someone answer me a quick question please.

Does this rom suffer with the same wifi sleep issue (wifi disconnects while phone is in sleep for long periods) that the custom froyo roms (no sense) over at xda have?

I've been using DeFrost or Open Desire for a while now but this issue is driving me nuts now!

Are you talking about this kitchen option?

Advanced - no 802.11N, wifi enabled in sleep

This option does not have 802.11N support, but does enable WiFi when device is in sleep mode. Credit goes to Myshkinbob for this module!

Yeah I saw that option, but even in the Froyo roms there is a setting under advanced wifi settings to set wifi sleep to Never, but it doesn't work as wifi does indeed go to sleep. It is a common bug in the custom Froyo roms and was just wondering if it was present here as well.

I think the mod in the kitchen keeps wifi alive during sleep as people were requiring that for streaming music (last.fm) etc. As I remember the kitchen tweaked option allowed that to happen. I havent noticed wifi going off during sleep and I baked it into my rom.

I don't see those!

they are there, but in:

/system/lib/modules

maybe thats the reason?

Quite strange. With root explorer I have no /system/lib/modules.

Is it possible to include CIFS support in this kernel?

Either by updating it with a patched version, or maybe Paul can include it in the kitchen?

This will allow windows shares to be mounted directly on the desire's file system, so you can play divx files etc. straight from a network drive.

Would be an awesome feature in my opinion!

I installed this, included radio image, and now my phone is stuck at the nexus one boot animation. I mean, it has been doing that "X" animation for 20 minutes! Should I remove the battery and power on again?

It does take a while for first boot, but my cutoff is 20 mins. you could try pulling the battery and seeing if it will start again, if not, boot into recovery, wipe and reflash.

You should check on XDA. I've found a kernel module and even a GUI to mount and umount shares. It's great!

It is up to Paul. If cifs will not be in the R9 I'll provide an update.zip .

Today I tested also the latest DeFrost and OpenDesire ROM's ... and both have the same problem with the WIFI loosing connection in phone sleep

with Paul's rom r8 with "wifi enabled in sleep" option + with this software: Wi-Fi Keep Alive I have fixed this problem - my wifi is working OK when the display sleeps.

The software isn't working with DeFrost and OpenDesire ROM's

Paul's r8 ROM have the same WiFI loosing connection in phone sleep problem when used without Wi-Fi Keep Alive

You have to acctivate all 4 Workarounds in the Advanced options in order to fix the problem ;)

My VoIP (SIPDroid) phone is working OK now. :(

How is your experience with the latest Radio 32.47.00.32_5.10.05.23?

A lot of people on XDA are reporting issues with signal loss etc. especially on Open Desire.

I have no problems so far with Modaco R8 but i had to lock my signal to GSM manually due to my current location. Havent really tried WLAN and GPS so far.

Everyting is working OK now with 32.47.00.32_5.10.05.2 and R8: GSM, WLAN and GPS - I worked whit them all day and there ws no any problem.

I tested it also today with the latest Open Desire and DeFrost ROMs, averything was OK with OD, but in DeFrost the WiFI card worked with about 15-20% less sensetivity, but this have notjimg yo do with the radio.

Hello Paul,

<cut a lot of irrelevant stuff>

Cheers

Sub, just open a new topic for this. Since this is not in R8 it has no place in this topic and I don't want to be reading through pages of irrelevant chit-chat. Don't be hijacking topics like this.

I have followed the steps outlined in the first post. I downloaded the r8-bravo-desire-modacocustomrom-withadditions-a2sd+-signed.zip, renamed it to update.zip and went thru the Clockwork Mod Recovery. When that is done, it in the CMR, it reboots and I get the MoDaCo guy splash screen with the quietly brilliant flashing over and over. I have left it for as long as 45 minutes. Pulling the battery out and powering back on goes into the same loop. This is also my first attempt at a custom rom on this phone.

HTC Desire (Telstra Branded)

Rooted & Gold Card

HBoot 0.83

SLCD Screen

Thanks in advance,

St Veronus

are you flashing with R8 with A2SD+(or A2SD)?

If so do you have ext3 partition on your SD card? I read on a xda forum repots, that there are similar problems when the sdcard isn't partitioned properly.
