Stuffed up phone info

hi guys

im new to android and was trying to make a gold card to unroot the phone and install the recovery software that i read off the unlockr.

i tried this in windows 7 and the htc sync software had some usb issues when trying to connect the phone. i loaded up windows xp in vmware like the site suggested and fired up hxed

now this is the part where something went wrong. i selected on physical hard disks, then the removable media option as the site instructed, now you would assume that this is the usb right? as it turns out it was the htc that i selected.

i then proceeded thinking it was the sd card and copied the 170 lines of hex code or so from the bootimage for the gold card.

so my question is..

is there by any chance any user out there on the htc hero and a hex editor?

well is sorted out my problem..

i used the repack update.zip image from here http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-hero...t-for-gsm-hero/

booted in reocvery mode and flashed back to generic rom

thanks anyways all

i now have android 2.1 on my hero mobile(Australia.. still bloody waiting)
