Guest Echo30 Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 (edited) So yes I've deleted spb mobile shell 3.5, it's not on my phone anywhere. I even went into the registry under local machine and deleted it from the software menu tree. Yet when there is no today plugin enabled, the right softkey reads "Spb Home". Tapping it brings up this error: "the file MenuLauncher cannot be opened" How do I get rid of this and get the right softkey back to normal? When titanium is enabled it is gone and titanium works just fine. So when I use the phone normally I wouldn't see it, but it bugs me that it's there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. --edit-- I also just noticed that my 6.5 lockscreen no longer shows any upcoming appointments. The clock panel at the bottom when it is locked is now closer to the bottom than I've seen it before, and yeah there is no calendar appointment showing. Any ideas? *crosses fingers* really hoping I don't have to hard reset... --edit 2-- I think it was the theme I had going. I had loaded up the embedded orange theme. Upon switching back to very wang the date is back safe and sound. Edited August 29, 2010 by Echo30
Guest Terry666 Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 You may need to install it back then Unload it from "Launcher\Settings\SPB Mobile Shell\ and click the Bottom Right Button and Exit Shell" and THEN Uninstall it from "Remove Programs" NOT just deleting it... When you just delete something DOESN'T mean you clean ALL the references from the registry...
Guest Echo30 Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 (edited) K I tried that, and the "Spb Home" is still there on the right softkey. Will my phone still connect to the Bell network, etc after a hard reset? I remember doing it on my HTC Touch winmo phone and it was fine, just wanna make sure it's still that way. Unless any other ideas how to get rid of that lovely Spb parting gift? -edit- Unless there's a way to fix it in the registry? Edited August 30, 2010 by Echo30

I just installed titanium and then when i uninstalled it , it was back to normal. If you do a hard reset be sure to back up ur contacts. HR should also solve the problem. Another thing i recommend is installing spb again , then going to windows device center and uninstalling it from your computer while your phone is plugged into it. If you do a HR your phone will work with your network, nothing happens, just reseting everything on your phone to factory default (unless you flashed)
Guest Echo30 Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 Well connecting through the USB is a problem cause I was one of the lucky ones who's installation CD doesn't work. So I only connect as mass storage to My Storage. I ended up doing a hard reset, but since my contacts are on my sim, they didn't delete! Was pretty happy about that. Also, it's faster now too. i'm using the touchwiz and it's actually not too bad for daily use. I think there was a problem with my phone when I picked it up. A hard reset has seemed to make it better than when I got it. Thanks for your help all. Spb, sorry we can't be friends anymore.

Next time you install something like spb, make sure you exit from it before uninstalling
