I went to settings/check for updates and it opened update.zingstaging.com/?version=GAUSB1A120321

and server timed out, hopefully means something is on the cards

Nope thats only the beta 'staging' update site. Hopefully someone will post the official 2.1 update file or the update location on the web which should be able to be updated from the browser.

EDIT: Looking on the other thread you unlock engineering mode and change the OTA update location and then it will update from official source. Mine says up to date though :/

Go to your phone dialler type *#*#307#*#*

It will go black screen with emlist on top. press home button if it doesn't clear.

Press launcher select emlist.

Scroll down to NV, choose ota server

To get rid of the engineering mode, go back to dialer. And type *#*#308#*#*

I've been told that it was rolling out from o2 but there's been loads of morons turning off their streaks at the first dell logo mid flash and complaining 'cos they don't boot anymore!

Ota was supposed to be a simple way off rolling out updates, guess there's no accounting for stupidity

Don't count o2 too much or dell too much. Just be patient.

Can anyone add anymore places to look for the pending android 2.1 update 1?, here is where I am checking every half an hour!!!

Via dell streaks browser - links:

http://update.zingstaging.com/latestbuild/...stbuild_21.html

http://mobileupdate.dell.com/latestbuild/latestbuild_21.html

Via About device, system updates:

http://mobileupdate.dell.com/?version=GAUSB1A110421

Check out a firefox addon called check4change, not sure if it will work for this, but it might.

I work nights so I'll be trying all night, just like I did last night and will probably do until I get this update.

Will post as soon it arrives if nobody else has.

Something maybe happening?

http://update.zingstaging.com/latestbuild/...stbuild_21.html has been timing out all day saying connection refused on my streak browser.

Tonight trying again all night and its just sits there? no time out, no error connecting?

Still linking 4399 from that URL.

Edit - nothing from there now.

I very much doubt its the same as one leaked...why would they bother releasing something that so many people say is had...id laugh if they surprise us with 2.2....now that would be something to be happy about...apparantly they are just finishing testing....3 mine ago via twitter

FYI:

http://www.o2.co.uk/dellStreakupdate - As it's ota, I'm assuming as long your sim card is installed (and of course, working) that O2 customers should get it regradless of build/version. That sound reasonable?
