Guest TheScrub Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 (edited) Orange UK has just released HD voice calls for phones that support it. As this is not a hardware specific thing would it be possible to create a software hack to enable this feature? Edit: Source - Note that a decent mic and noise cancellation is required for the full shebang. My understanding of the Desire is that it's not great in this respect but surely it should be possible to take advantage of the higher bandwidth for voice over 3G and gain a noticeable improvement. Guest CaspaTheGhost Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Gotta get decent 3G signal first so there goes that idea!!! Especially when the call has to be made to another Orange user with great 3G too!
Guest pete_thomson Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 The software upgrade is on the RAN, not the handset. The handset has to be compliant to support the new CODEC and this will probably mean more than just a software hack.
Guest giorgisp Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 I installed this, included radio image, and now my phone is stuck at the nexus one boot animation. I mean, it has been doing that "X" animation for 20 minutes! Should I remove the battery and power on again?
