Guest onlinejobwork Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 so does this mean the possibility of custom roms now :P Yes but as this is very low profile model and not Become famous as others models So no one try or look interested for making custom rom If anyone provide guide like "rom building for gt540 for Dummies" I can try My wish-list for the custom rom that I removed all the application except The most essential which required to run the phone As everyone can install supplied software from the android Market if they wish anytime?

Guest tonyv2 Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 (edited) This is what I was able to find http://translate.googleusercontent.com/tra...vx6M5s3rCyApAvg. Good luck, update us if you find this helpfull Hi had a quick look at that thread maybe someone could post the source code link on it they might find it useful . I don't really know enough to be able to make my own custom rom i was hoping someone more knowlegeable would pick this up and i could help.I will try and get some info from the guys who did this http://code.google.com/p/openetna/ its a LG gw620 android 2.1 custom rom .The LG gw620 it use's a Qualcomm MSM7200A compared to the Qualcomm MSM7227 in the gt540 they look like they had to port a new kernel being on 1.5 ,1.6 has same kernel as 2.1 ,2.2 . other stuff service manual for gt540 http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW..._ENG_100531.zip service manual for lg gw620 (lg eve) http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW..._ENG_091203.zip more information about gw620 here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/phpwiki213/...gename=LG%20Eve This seems useful from one of the opentna team http://polytn.blogspot.com/ and this http://www.zacpod.com/taxonomy/term/6 I am currently trying to do something a bit simpler and modify vudroid pdf djvu viewer so it uses opengl to draw. Rendering pdf's on my nokia n800 400mhz arm11 is much faster than vudroid on my archos 5 800mhz cortex a8.Vudroid uses a native library based on mupdf to render the pdf to a buffer then the buffer handle is passed to davlik which copies it to a pixmap.Evince is based on poppler which is supposed to be slower than mupdf.Davlik VM for mobile seems dumb, much slower than native and hence eats more battery even with jit .I reckon its part of some google strategy to push to even more privacy invading web apps for android assuming android survives google being sued by oracle.
