Guest jimmymagix Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 I'm not, but i'll look into it. Does it also do it on stock? How about the new OTA stock? P I've just checked and it seems to be a problem with OTA stock as well. Understand you're busy but if you could have a quick look at what may be causing it, it would be great.
Guest Diggedy Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Helloo, I am unable to receive mms with this rom even if I have configured correctly apns.... :-( Do you have any extra apns in your list. If so delete them as they conflict with the correct ones
Guest trstn Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 I'd stick to your guns personally Paul, keep it as 'Stocky' as possible with under the hood tweaks, leave the noddy gfx mods and oc stuff to those on xda :P K +1 It's easy enough to apply an update.zip to get the battery afterwards, if you start with themey things it'll never end :)
Guest EddyOS Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 +10000000000 Leave theming to those wanting to do it, keep this as you originally intended - stock with MCR tweaks
Guest Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Nope, mine is working properly. Strange. I can't find it in the widgets screen. I have baked the app in so the widget should be there too?
Guest blackcoffee85 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Does your maps 4.5.0 contain squrl/Brut's modifications?
Guest Paul Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 No, is there a squrl version of 4.5 yet? P
Guest aslsthlm Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Hi Paul, just wonder, is there any update based on 2.10 on it´s way ?
Guest rveupen Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Flashed this rom on friday. Did a full wipe of everything...even removed all partitions on the sd. Partitioned with ADB 1st Fat32 then Ext2 and also added a 32mb swap. Converted the Ext2 to Ext3 in Recovery. Switched to MS USB and copied the Rom to the SD. Flashed the rom. Let it boot the first time without any software installs. Just a few minor setting changes of time and input. Turned the phone off and on again. After is totally booted installed some apps with AppBrain that I always use. Went cycling for 4hours and used MyTrack to log my progress. Phone still had 60% battery. Has not crashed at all....no FC's at all. Runs rock solid. Only thing I cannot seem to install is the Street View update I am prompted with. It's always unsuccessful. I really don't mind because I never use it on my phone but thought I had to mention it.
Guest woti17 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 paul, did you look in /system/etc/bluetooth since r7 there are only 3 conf files (before 5) 2 of them are binaries?! btw: whats the empty bluez directory, is it needed?
Guest Von Ropen Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Do you have any extra apns in your list. If so delete them as they conflict with the correct ones Hello thanks for reply... I have the correct orange apn list... mms and internet only... no extra apn... : -(
Guest towo Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 (edited) For the record, just dumping the cyanogen bluetooth files into /etc/bluetooth doesn't help with any of the problems I've encountered so far, implying that they're pretty close to the default anyway. At first I thought the files aren't particularly used at all, seeing how the hostname settings and the device setup in the config file get blatantly ignored, but those actually reside in /data/. update: Copying the config to /etc/bluez helps that now, Android at least verbosely fails to connect the headset: D/BluetoothHeadsetService( 1356): SDP UUID: TYPE_HANDSFREE I/HeadsetBase.cpp( 1356): Created RFCOMM socket fd 53. Guest djkaija Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Hi All, can someone correct me but have I understood this right? I've got a rooted Desire, running r8 for a few weeks. Now Paul goes and starts rolling out r9! :P When r9 is up and running fully, so to speak, will I need to wipe and reflash or can I use ROM Manager from market? Do I still need me Gold card or will ROM Manager do everything I need to do (wipe, reflash etc?) Thanks for your time - and let's all try to get the 10k (or more!) for Cancer Research!
Guest Diggedy Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 and if you always wipe - you always restore full titanium backup? including the not installed apps? you can check what eats your internal storage most in a terminal or adb shell with cd /data find -size +100k -exec ls -ldh {} \; (\; is required no smiley, replace +200k with a value that suits you, valid is k,M,G for kilo or Mega or Giga, +1M = size higher than 1M, -100k = size lower than 100k) I did this, the only big files were files I had installed myself. Whenever I install a new ROM I always wipe everything first. This only happens with modaco roms, stock roms are always 130mb+ free after first reboot which is why im thinking its to do with deodexing
Guest DavidThack Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Hi. I have been using the R9 version and thought id do the latest update because it has been over a week since and now when i boot into recovery menu and select the flash using the clockwork menu. It starts to copy then gives me the following. Finding update package... Opening update package ... Installing Update... Formatting Cache... Deleting files... Deleting files... Deleting Files... Copying files... E:can't chown/mod /data/system-lib (no such file or directory) E:Failure at line 11: set_perm 1000 1000 0771 Data:system-lib Installation aborted. What is wrong as if i flash R8 after downloading it that flashes ok without any problem. I have even cooked R9 rom with everything ticked apart from anything after Apps to SD with delvik cache. And still get the same error as above.
