Guest vfrvulcan Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Defaulted option? :) P Yeah, that's fine. I always read through and toggle
Guest Sub501 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Adding the smooth icon pack tomorrow, without percentage. Kitchen option or default do you think? P Hi Paul, I think every single mod should be optional. This way can keep the ROM as close as the official one. What do you think in adding Cisco VPNC as a new kitchen option? Cheers

Guest Ran Sagy Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 I cooked and installed a new r9 ROM to get rid of a problem i was experiencing with my Desire on r8, but it seems the same for me in r9 as well. I cannot download ANYTHING from the Market. It just keeps showing me the progress bar in the application's page and in the Downloads tab in the Market as 'Starting Download..' but it never get anywhere. This is after a complete wipe data/factory reset + cache + dalvik + battery stats, as well as flashing the new cooked ROM with radio. Am i missing something here?

Have you tried running the market speedup script from MCR Scripts? P
Guest TamirDa Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 OK mate, i'll look into it. P Thx man can you reply me if you can do it in privet or here because its will bring a lot of israli to your kitchen:) if you can do it i will publish that on israel android and they will be so happy:) thx a lot again!
Guest Ran Sagy Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Have you tried running the market speedup script from MCR Scripts? P Yeah, Paul, Ran the Market after wiping and flashing, OK'd the agreement page, browsed around and tried downloading something - stalled. Ran the MCR script and tried again with a different application, as well as the same, stalled. All ~10 applications i tried getting stalled and remained stuck. I am told this is a somewhat common and general Market issue, But just wanted to see that i'm not missing something obvious.
Guest LouiS22 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 +1 for the optional thingy. Plus a personal request: Paul, do you think it's possible to make a Hungarian locale? too bad that Desire doesn't support our language. If you could provide me an English resource (or point to the direction where to fnd it), maybe we could do the translation.
Guest Paul Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Very weird, I imagine it's an issue tied to your Google account unfortunately... P
Guest Ran Sagy Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Could be. I'll try grab some other FroYo ROM just be sure this isn't related to MCR and report, But this is rather annoying right now.

I have had market trouble for the last few days off and on. Repeatedly had to press "cancel download" and then re-click "install". Then it would work. Bit of a hit and miss. Trouble seems to have gone away now. Don't think it had anything to do with the ROM.
Guest iserlohn Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Paul, is it possible to add the HTC CIME back to r9? The new HTC IME included has Chinese support, but no Chinese Handwriting support! (Same with the Nexus One Desire Rom r24). This ROM is perfect otherwise!

Guest ascot17 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Hi All, can someone correct me but have I understood this right? I've got a rooted Desire, running r8 for a few weeks. Now Paul goes and starts rolling out r9! When r9 is up and running fully, so to speak, will I need to wipe and reflash or can I use ROM Manager from market? Do I still need me Gold card or will ROM Manager do everything I need to do (wipe, reflash etc?) Thanks for your time - and let's all try to get the 10k (or more!) for Cancer Research! You can use Rom Manager. No need to wipe. No need for Gold Card. Rom Manager will give you the options to backup/wipe if desired and will then flash the new Rom (you will need to put the new Rom somewhere on the SD card first).
Guest chipyy Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 This didn't get a reply before. Would there be any chance of getting the option the bake in alternative launchers in the kitchen? Just the main ones like ADW and LPP would be great. (LPP for me personally). I know these ROMs are meant to be as stock as possible, but a lot of people use those launchers and it would be nice to be able to easily have them installed to /system/ for speed etc. Would anyone else like to have this option?
Guest Stelard Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 (edited) What is this 'smooth icon pack'? What's it look like? EDIT: Actually, nevermind. I think I found it and I'm not really a fan of the coloured status icons, mostly the SD card one; I prefer the white symbolic one to the realistic one that blends into the background. Please make it an option. Circle mod with 'C' style icons is better anyway  Edited September 14, 2010 by Stelard

My friend (non-rooted) updated using OTA and sent me SMS using Chinese Handwriting Input. I will try to find screenshot or the source RUU...

Guest rav1patel Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 I'm having problems getting A2SD working. I had an EXT2 partition which I'd made using clockworkmod but this didn't work. So I flashed amonra and repartitioned the card. I used a swap size of 0MB. I then upgraded the EXT2 to EXT3. But A2SD is still not working. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Guest Paul Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 rav1patel, is the ext partition your second partition? P
Guest Yepayepa Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Am I the only one who's experiencing APN reconnection problems with new RIL (R8 and R9) ? Cheers.
Guest rav1patel Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 rav1patel, is the ext partition your second partition? P Hi Paul, I only partitioned once and then upgraded it to EXT3 so I should only have one partition. I've downloaded Quick System Info and found that the A2SD is working. But for some reason I've only got 60MB of internal storage free. When I flashed the ROM (after a wipe) I had about 90MB. I'm wondering why this is so low as I baked a fairly light ROM. I was previously using nextsense which gave me 130MB free space on a fresh install and never dipped below 100MB. Just to add that apart from this issue I love r9
