Guest inigoml Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 btw: 90MB would be good even 60MB what do you want to use nand memory else for? its not RAM, this is extra. I have the same problem. My /data is only 30MB left. dalvik-cache -> 67.2MB local -> 6.3MB data -> 44.2MB From data, this are folders more than 1MB in size: 1.1M ./com.google.android.apps.maps 2.0M ./com.htc.launcher 1.4M ./com.koushikdutta.rommanager 1.7M ./com.google.android.street 8.6M ./com.android.providers.contacts 1.9M ./com.htc.android.mail 8.1M ./com.adobe.flashplayer 4.0K ./com.htc.MusicWidget 3.8M ./org.freecoder.android.cmplayer.v7 4.0K ./com.htc.FMRadioWidget 3.3M ./com.nitrodesk.droid20.nitroid 5.0K ./com.htc.htcMessageUploader I'm planning moving dalvik to SD, but I'm not sure if this will hurt performance.
Guest Kiran J. Holla Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Interesting... any reason everyone wouldn't want to use a patched version? P I am not sure. There may be folks who prefer to have the Security provided by the unpatched version. Regards, Kiran
Guest Diggedy Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 It's not odexed, yes you can, be careful you don't run out of space tho (it may happen). Nandroid first basically. :lol: P any chance of adding an odex option or releasing a odexed version?
Guest woti17 Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 8.6M ./com.android.providers.contacts I'm planning moving dalvik to SD, but I'm not sure if this will hurt performance. ./com.android.providers.contacts don't know what this is but mine is 0.3 MB for example - yours 8.6MB ./com.adobe.flashplayer 4k (maybe unused?) there is an app Quick App Clean Cache, maybe you should try to free some storage (it's free)
Guest bushbrother Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Just a quick comment, many thanks Paul for the work, the ROMs are great! I have been watching r9 grow these past few days and noticed how it very quickly becomes unclear where things were added from and what they do. Would it be possible to add some hyperlinks to the kitchen to particular posts/threads that explain what options do in more detail? A good example is some of the governor and power saving additions that were recently added to the list. As a n00bie I don't understand what it will do!
Guest Exlo Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 would like to see update packages as things get updated/added, så we dont need to bake a new rom everytime...
Guest The Virus 2013 Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Just a request, I saw in some roms that Market is patched so every country see every apps, free or not. Is it possible to ad such a function? So poor Belgian people like me will not need Enabler anymore... Thanks Paul

Guest The Virus 2013 Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 I saw this here forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768703 But I never tested it...
Guest Paul Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 It looks to me like that's market enabler bundled in... P
Guest shadamehr Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Paul: Smooth Theme... I removed this myself, when using r8, and installing it as an extra update so to speak, as it caused border draw corruption on various applications, such as Google Maps, Foursquare etc - for everyone who uses it, as far as I can tell (see the R8 thread for screenshots). Can you tell me if this version you have included, does not have this problem? Thanks Paul.

My incoming call screen used to be like the one on the attached image but now I just get the sliding up/down screen. Anyone has an idea why this might have happened? Guest indyjones Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 (edited) It's on the list! Smooth icons is very subtle, just, er, smoother icons in the top bar. :) P Nice :lol: If your putting in this bit of eye candy, would you like to add my low battery image? (the plug bit is from a N1 sorry I can't credit the author as don't know where it originally came from, though I added the HTC Desire) Edited September 14, 2010 by indyjones

It has always been quite big for me after wiping data also. Flashplayer surprised me. 8MB only for a .so library...
Guest shadamehr Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Er, i've not NOTICED anything, but I could just be being not so observant... :lol: P I was gonna link to the screen shots, but can't seem to work out how to search on a thread and then find the actual POST in the results list, rather than just the thread returned. But then I realised I'm barking up the wrong tree anyhow... It's the numeric battery mod (not the circle one, but the other one that puts numbers in the standard battery icon) that is the known cause of the border corruption on some apps, NOT the Smooth Icons one. My bad.
Guest Noonski Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 (edited) any chance of adding an odex option or releasing a odexed version? I also was a big fan of this Option but Paul explained there are problems adding it as an option and why it is not needed if you have A2SD+. I was gonna link to the screen shots, but can't seem to work out how to search on a thread and then find the actual POST in the results list, rather than just the thread returned. My bad. Smooth Sense is the Battery Mod that puts the numbers in the regular/stock battery. And it adds extra animation frames to the battery and sync icon. First I read Paul was going to do the Skinning himself. That would mean he would work with the framework already present in R9 releases. He probably worked from the Smooth Sense Graphics. Don't feel the need to Cook and flash the latest WIP. But I don't think this one will have the White Line Graphic Bug you posted in the other WIP thread. Guest choccy Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Interesting, hadn't thought of that. Might look into using SetCPU again I've installed setcpu on mine and have reduced so its just over 600 on a few profile settings battery 50% max 652 and on screen off I have it at 652 max also. Anyone else suggest good settings to have to help conserve my battery? Running R8 rom at present.
Guest Py7h0n Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Would be nice for us non sense users that once you deselect sense it automatically gets rid of all items requiring sense :lol:.
Guest Madeli Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Hi Paul! I'd like to see this reboot mod: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=776495 in the rom or kitchen. Its of good use for everyone :lol:
