I would've thought it would be possible. Not sure about the remote-access features, although they're all already available in one form or another. I don't recall the name of the Sense UI I'm using as I busted the HDD with all that info on it, but as far as I know I'm using a "newer" Sense skin as part of the E[x/s]presso mod. It functions exactly as the standard one does, but it's simpler and straight instead of curved.

That said, there is a hangover to using it -- when I browse widgets, each element of the Sense interface appears in the widget list, and Sense itself crashes if I choose one of them.

Not sure about navigation etc but these things do seem to be port-able.

Yeah, that's my opinion, too... Not sure how will the server autenticate the users... Hope it won't be an IMEI based one, because those options won't be portable and usable.

Yeah, I was thinking even if it just goes off phone model, HTC will probably flag up when it receives a request from an "incompatible" model. The stuff is a good idea but we all know phone companies bloat, so I'm sticking with a rather nice little thing I found called Webkey:

Nothing too pretty, clearly born of someone's enjoyment of what they're doing, and it crashes Sense when I stop the service, but it's actually a really handy, well-integrated little package. I only got it so that I could type on a keyboard when I couldn't get Wifikeyboard to work, but I love it.

Yes it does... I did apply this mod with full success :)

well I just browsed htcsense.com and it just wanted a username and password :-)

Paul, one suggestion for ROMs file name...

Now ROMs are created with r9-model-modacocustomrom-randomnumber.zip

Could you add a date number with format YYYYMMDD before random in order to locate ROMs version by name?

For example r9-bravo-desire-signed-MD5-modacocustomrom-20100915-9abcc87291.zip

This would be useful specially for WIP ROMs.

Paul, about the SD corruption when mounting on pc and having a2sd+ enabled, maybe there's a solution...

changed the partition in /etc/vold.fstab from auto to partition 1 in this line:

# Mounts the first usable partition of the specified device

dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard auto /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.0 /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host/mmc1

When I select "Disk Drive" now, only the FAT32 partition is mounted not the whole SD card. After selecting "Charge Only" making a photo and selecting "Disk Drive" again, you will see the new photo without a restart.

Im getting vrey odd random reboots in R9 also some days are better than others for battery life

Left the House at 07:00 this moring and 08:30 now and have 57% left not turned wifi or bluetooth on just drove to work.

Yesterday I surfed alot and hand wifi on all day and had no drop in battery like this.

at least in /sbin/pm there is a line in the shell script missing which gives an adb install error

./adb-linux install ../xx.apk

1158 KB/s (1027474 bytes in 0.865s)

/sbin/sh: pm: not found

as described here: http://code.google.com/p/openetna/issues/detail?id=102

the diff is:

insert a first line

#!/system/bin/sh

after that, because the above doesn't work alone, you might also change

exec app_process $base/bin com.android.commands.pm.Pm "$@"
to 
exec $base/bin/app_process $base/bin com.android.commands.pm.Pm "$@"

Anyone having issues with when Recieving calls or sms's whereby it shows the wrong number/name? I had an sms last week from my wife but the number was a random one and took a call last night where is should as "Dad" when calling but changed to who it was when answered... Last week i flashed R9 over R8 without wipe, but on Tuesday I reflashed with a full wipe so should be an ok base.

One other thing in Gallery can you change to "List" view as it exits back to the main Gallery if i try, this has been happenening since R8 (possibly R7).

can i see any screens for the Smooth theme? whats the changes to the current theme? if its cool i'm upgrading to R9.

or maybe someone can direct me to a page for this theme? if possible i dont want to flash a new ROM just for a theme.
