Thanks, I'd just downloaded aLogCat and did the same.

Difference in my log is a bunch of

E/cache ( 1814): /data/data/com.android.browser/cache/webviewCache/f9ec828e delete failed.

E/cache ( 1814): /data/data/com.android.browser/cache/webviewCache/fa9d97b8 delete failed.

lines, all with different items, nearly 200 of them.

Attached if anyone wants a look.

Using the fix permissions option in rommanager kills my contact pictures in the sms program.

Paul

when you will add the hebrew option?

Shalom! (Hello)

What do you mean in hebrew option? Since Android 2.2 the Hebrew fonts are included with Android itself, which allows browsing sites in Hebrew, reading SMS/emails in Hebrew and so on.

The official Android (and HTC IME) keyboards do not support Hebrew yet, but thats something Paul can't help with, as far as i know. You can try Smart Keyboard Pro or AnySoftKeyboard for their Hebrew support. I use the former.

and the following kills possible the market - be warned! (tried it it doesn't or me)

/app-cache/com.android.browser/cache

is only root-writeable, that causes the error messages with htc browser it can t write into and cant delete therefore,

dolphin doesn t use it, it seems

maybe you can try to change the ownership for the android browser cache

chown 10003.10003 /app-cache/com.android.browser/cache -R

paul? please have a look into this

update: changing the ownership creates actual:

drwxrwx--x 2 10003 10003 1.8K Sep 21 17:28 webviewCache

and a lot of cacheentries like that

-rw------- 1 10003 10003 750 Sep 21 17:26 ece1df8d

but who knows if browser runs always as 10003.10003?

@eugene.an, I believe Paul is still working on integrating the 2.10 update back into MCR. He said he incorporated SOME changes, not all, so that might be later on.

@itzhak garbuz, I know, I'm from Israel as well. SMS when writing Hebrew mixed with English and/or numbers still doesn't work well, This is something Google needs to fix (or we need to find a different SMS application that does it well), Same goes to the GMail app.

I suppose Paul MIGHT be able to solve some of the RTL problems, But it's mostly up to Google to do.

When i try to apply sdcard:update.zip:

"E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)

What it could be ?!

Hi,

Something odd happens with the weather and the clock widget; when the phone is turned on, there seems to be an overlay clock widget which will only clear on reboot - then all is fine. odd, never happened in previous versions.

Maybe the reason is the app's cache.

No, I use Quick App Clean on regular basis.

because application data (not apps) is stored in /data/data, depending on the apps you use, more or less data get stored there

paul, could you please take a look at the permissions of the cache of the the android "internet" browser

/data/data/com.android.browser has a symlink cache to

/app-cache/com.android.browser/cache

which is an only root writeable directory

the browser runs as user/group 10003/10003 and can t write the webviewCache
