How to make omnia2 use other mp3 files

Greetings!

Where do I place other mp3 files (not samsung's default) so I can select it as my ringtones?

I had tried to put them into

1) \windows\rings folder. Results: i can see them in "Settings" "Sound Settings" "Ring", after selection of my choice, it cannot be fixed permanent

2) \windows\ folder. Results: i cant see them in "Settings" "Sound Settings" "Ring"

If possible, teach me how to change the SMS ringtone too!

You should be able to put them into the windows ringtone folder, that's how I did it on my last winmo phone. But there's a lot easier way to do it with samsungs touch player, just play the one you want and then in the right softkey there will be a set as ringtone option and this sets it and places it into the right folder. MMS I don't know about but if you placed it in those folders it should be there, did you try setting it in the windows default settings instead of the samsung settings?
