Dots it say something like, insert an sd card with an update pkg on visit dell.com for support? If it does then all you need to do is use the instructions in my earlier post to put the stock 1.6 update.pkg on your sd card. Good luck and post back if you need any more help.

Yes this is the exact screen that you describe. But i cannot get any further. As the sd card or the pkg are not recognised.

Maybe the cause is that it is a A00 unlocked european model transformed to 21 by Paul method with stock recovery?

Sorry but depending on what recovery boot loader I choose , I see either a dim black screen , or a screen Asking me to download update.pkg for Dell site and press volume down to power off.

I am really stuck

Just so you don't waste your time I thought I'd let you know that I spent ages on the phone earlier today trying to get through to Dell Tech Support - eventually I got to speak to someone who said she had "no idea of what was wrong" - I said that someone there should - then after speaking to her colleagues the best she could come up with was "someone is working on it" and to check back [daily ?] until they had something to announce. I said that I thought this was intolerable, having been put on hold for approx 35 minutes just to speak to her without satisfaction, and that Dell ought to issue a public apology for this 'disaster' of an upgrade and to make some effort to let customers know what is going on. I reckon the best thing is to ignore this upgrade for a week or so until there is a positive statement about the reliability of the next upgrade package so as not to suffer any more downtime with your device.

galmpan, check your SD card using an SD card reader to ensure that there is actually an 'update.pkg' on your SD card. If possible use THIS pkg . Once you have the right pkg on your SD download flash the stock recovery available HERE. Then follow the rest of the guide to put it back to stock.

Ι did that exactly , but no glory....I am stuck in this screen , without being able to do nothing.

Maybe I bricked it unrevercible.

Is there any way to flash a full system recovery through fastboot?

Thanks

We need to get you sorted.

On which I flashed 2.1 leaked

Using Paul method with stock kernel.

Then trying to put original update

The official o2 2.1 update has bricked my streak :P

Well I say bricked, it won't get past the dell logo. I can get into fastboot and recovery but both stock recovery and clockworkmod but I can't update the SD card with the original stock rom to unbrick it. As its bricked I can't get into the OS to mount the SD card. I can flash via fastboot but not sure of a command that will allow me to flash to the sdcard. I have tried fastboot -i 0x413c flash sdcard update.pkg/zip but this doesn't work. From what I can tell you can only flash to the internal memory? Any ideas?

Thanks

Rob

I have tried every kind of technique to sort out my dell streak and had no success at all...until.... wait for it.... I called Dell and told them I wasn't getting any where with it and you wouldn't believe what they said.....they sending a courier to pick my phone up and will replace it within 7 - 10 working days I was shocked to here that but am sooooo happy now... I have been driven up the wall since the update came through.

After going in to O2 and getting treated like a lepra ( don't know how to spell it lol) to about smashing the phone off the nearest wall. Here's hoping all goes well with the delivery hahahaha....fingers & toes crossed....the new update that due in 2 - 3 days works better but I will be sticking to the original settings til I know for definate it all works.....

Well I'm not surprised Dell were unable to offer any other solution than to replace it, its a bit poor really. Obviously without having the device in front of me I can't replicate the problems you've had but I can't see why anyone can't fix their device by placing the stock update.pkg on the sd card and flashing the stock recovery following my guide.

Is the stock format and recovery not compatible with all uk and european devices?
