Opera Mini 5.1 has been released

new opera mini 5.1 is up for download. i just tested it, feels much faster than mini 5 and scrolling is better too. you can also set it as default browser.

Thanks for the news flash.

Had some trouble installing in over the 5.0 version, first tried installing the cab over it like normal and it said in installed but mini was still 5.0. Then uninstalled it in remove programs and went to install the cab but it had to uninstall again. Then it finally installed the updated version, had to use opera sync to restore all my favorites and stuff though as it didn't just copy the data from the old program file folder like 5.0 did on a new install.

It seems to be a bit faster than before and to render some pages better now, they're self advertising now with an ad to download opera for a computer...a terrible browser IMO.

i can't say it's better than Opera 10, opera mini is a java based app. but mini eats much less RAM and much faster when loading webpage, you can give it a try.

The Opera Mini for Windows Mobile is a cab file installed program specific for Windows Mobile platform, it is not a java based app. The WM based Mini is much faster than java based Mini.

??? to me, Opera Mini loads page faster than opera mobile 10

are you talking about the initial time it takes to connect to server? opera mini is a server based browser, you know.....

It's installer for Opera Mini 5.1.21594 for sure, I've installed it.
