Guest Simon O Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Fibble is your kernel compatible with the 2.2 alpha releases? EDIT: And if not can I could uncompress the 2.2 boot image and replace the kernel image with yours? Or are there driver incompatabilities The kernel itself is compatible. You'll have to unpack the Froyo boot image and rebuild it with the new kernel.

Guest goce.nakov Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 You can either partition with a swap partition or use Swapper2 to create a swapfile. I won't be making any kernels with swap support for Froyo whilst it's still in development. How I can partition my SD card from Clockwork Recovery (not from ROM Manager)? It's seems that there is no such option in the menu?

It's seems that there is no such option in the menu? I don't think so. But you can flash amon ra (in fastboot), and when you're done with partitioning (make nand backup and sd backup first) in amon ra, go in fasboot, and flash the recovery.img (clockwork - you can find it in your clockwork backup folders) in fastboot. And than restore the old nandroid backup using clockwork That's what I did Edited September 14, 2010 by Fusion0306

Guest Krinyo Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Found a bug: when call coming, the screen not switching on, i don't see anything, not able to unlock the phone. I can accept the call with the hardware button, but after that i lost the phone, i have blank screen until removing battery, and reboot the phone.
Guest konzul Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Hi! Im new in this story. Plese would you tell me how to instal oficial 2.1? I download and unzip file, then copy to SD card, and....update faild. I need help step by step.
Guest Simon O Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 (edited) I don't know if it's caused by the kernel or what  Surely there must be somebody out there that has a lot more knowledge about building kernels and can make a working .29 kernel for Android 2.1 with swap, compcache and all the other things people want? It's really hard work for somebody like me that, until yesterday, didn't even know how to build a kernel. And Compcache is really annoying me now. It works and I can manually launch it.. but it doesn't work with swap and I can't figure out any way of making compcache loadable on boot whilst allowing people to disable it easily. Compcache + swap = very unstable phone. meh.. why is it so difficult. Edited September 14, 2010 by flibblesan

I download and unzip file, then copy to SD card, and....update faild. I need help step by step. Download the official 2.1 update from either Tmobile Website, Or other's. I dont have it on my computer anymore or i would upload, Ask one of the nice people in here to upload for you if you cant find it online. (1) Mount USB to computer. (2)Place Dload folder in Root of SD Card (3)Turn off Phone. (4)Then go to Menu, Settings, Phone & Storage, Or Card. I cant remember what it's under in 1.5. (5)Upgrade or Somthing like that. (6) Let it run it's course. (7) Enjoy. _______________ Forgot, Dont copy and paste Dload folder as it mixes with the one already on your SD if you have one on there, wich im assuming you do, cause your update failed. Delete the one off the SD card first. Then place the new one you get into the root, By root i mean, not in no subfolders. Eg. My computer, Removable E: place it in there. Guest Krinyo Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 (edited) I don't know if it's caused by the kernel or what  Only the kernel changed, nothing else... You can reproduce this? Edited September 14, 2010 by Krinyo

Guest Simon O Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Hey Flibb, what's the best/easiest way to test swap? terminal: cat /proc/swaps or a2sd check and look for the swap part. Either of those will show if it's working or not. If you have a swap partition then a2sd should enable it on boot.
Guest defts Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 great. now this swap i can play in angry birds
