So what is cyanogenmod? Is it just the name for a custom ROM like all the different names for ROMs over on the XDA HD2 forum?

Or is it actually a MOD of some kind?

Please excuse my ignorance, I'm new to Droid :-)

Yeah I really need to look into Droid more. My brother-in-law develops for it, software I think, not O/S stuff.

I was on WinMo for 12 years and was just starting to get into modding that myself.....c'mon Android!

Does a background knowlege of Linux help? I'm thinking of doing a foundation Linux course thru the Open Uni to compliment my CCNA.
