I use one. but I don't like it and want to take off.

For some reason it's really... frictiony. like it makes my screen the complete opposite of smooth.

so my question is does anyone not use a screen protector, and if so how is your screen holding up. is it getting scratched, marked etc.

Thanks in advance

The screen easily gets damaged without a screen protector.

If your current one feels "frictiony", give the matte protector a try.

It feels smoother and removes glare. The difference in clarity is also negligible.

I have been using different protectors but I have had no luck getting them on right, so now I have it without. I have started getting small scratches but compared to the irritating bubbles and ripples I have decided to go without.

(how the ... do you put these things on correctly?)

I just use writeright screen protectors picked up at a wallmart, doesn't feel to uncomfortable or have much "friction".

You need a screen protector, the screen can get scratched just under normal use even from the stylus.

You can spend an hour trying to get them on perfect but you will always get bubbles...but after a few days they always have worked themselves out as I use the screen. Really you just need to make sure no hair or dust gets caught in the adhesive and then under the sheet once you put it on, bubbles will go away eventually but trapped dust or hair means you will probably need to start over with a new sheet.

Most you buy should come with some form of squeegee and that will let you get in on evenly avoiding any ripples, or you could just use any object with a straight edge, but you'll always get some bubbles.

I have quite forcefully tried to remove all bubbles right after application, that way I might have caused the ripples by stretching the protector...

I have an invisishield lying about at home, will see how it looks with just letting the bubbles go away by themselves.

invisishield are quite tacky. One of my friend stuck one on his phone. Difficult to slide your finger across, feels like sliding across a non-slip mat..

If you don't feel your pda's screen is smooth when you have a protector on it, that means the protector is poor quality.

Cool thanks guys. I'll look into this matte finish one, but I guess for now I won't be taking mine off. As annoying as it is, it's better than the screen getting damaged.

bluhound - I think that's what mine is. It makes the phone experience quite annoying. Couple that with the lagginess of wm and it's frustrating

Check out 'dcmugen' from ebay. http://stores.ebay.com/DCMUGEN

Their screen protectors are great and reasonably priced too (bought 5 matte and 2 privacy as spares.. ). At first I was using their matte screen protectors but later I changed to the privacy ones.

Some batches of privacy ones have a matte surface but its best to check with them.

I have a zagg invisible shield that i ordered off of amazon , and i have nothing but good things to say about them.

First of all you get a lifetime replacement warranty and second of all I messed my first shield up.

I overstretched it and ended up leaving a fingerprint on the bottom side of the protector. (I never said i was good at putting the protectors on )

I sent a email and the next day i sent off my RUINED protector to be replaced by the warranty. 6-7 days later it was here and i actually put it on flawlessly this time.

Supposedly theyre made from some laminate they use to protect military helicopter blades.

I dont know about that but i do know that one day someone was using a pen or something on my phone as a stylus and that night i noticed a few lil scratches on the screen. The next night or so i looked at my phone to use it and actually noticed that the scratches were gone.

With it the screen is not as slick as it is without it, but then again its not as frictiony as those dollar protectors you can get on ebay.

and if you buy from amazon you actually pay less and still get the warranty

i had a zagg invisible shield on my s8000 jet and i hated the way it feels. sure it protects the screen really well and doesn't scratch, but it isn't smooth at all. my omnia 2 came with a plastic film-looking protector already on it from bell and feels a lot better and smoother. i did however put a zagg protector on the back cover and is holding up well.

if you're a do it yourselfer like i am and are going with zagg, i'd suggest buying the ipad protector so you get a big sheet to cut your own protectors out of for the same price of one of their pre-cut protectors, since they don't just sell big sheets of the stuff.
