Startup, Shutdown, Welcomehead, s2u2 and Wallpaper Screens

So I got myself an i8000 now to replace my i900.

Naturally I was going to make a new startup screen set for it.

I figured I'd post my first set (for this device) here for other members to use if desired.

"Samsung i8000, Winmo, Double Helix Screen-Set (480x800)".

(Samsung and Winmo, Genetically Engineered for "Life") :DCheesy

Included in this set are:-

: Power_on.gif

: Power_off.gif

: wallpaper.gif (for s2u2)

: welcomehead.192.png

:480x800 wallpaper. *

(*Which becomes the backgrounds for the Start Menu and Lockscreen. Automatically. B)Cool ).

You know how to change these... ;)Wink Use Total Commander or Resco Explorer to copy the Power-on, Power_off and welcomehead files into your Windows folder. Confirm the names are correct.

The s2u2 needs only be named wallpaper.gif and dropped into "Device/Windows/Program Files/s2u2/gfx".

Adjust s2u2 settings for animated wallpaper.

The wallpaper can be applied via Standard "File Explorer".

It's likely I will create other sets as the mood strikes me. No doubt I will post them here also.

Here is a very Basic set I made simply to replace the pre-Installed rubbish. (My device was carrier branded)

I feel it is quite generic and blends in well with the device, (and many others too, I suppose).

Rather than being of a specific theme or motif, It simply is a lightweight more pleasing alternative. (For me at least)

The SU file runs for noticeably longer than the SD file. (Long Startup - Short Shutdown, as the device is).

what about one that looks like the snow on a tv screen when you first turn it on that has a windows logo just appear from it?

I cant seem to find many good backgrounds for S2U2 that are proper resolution. Or if anyone has a link to a good gallery for well-sized animations I'd love that too.

that are both reasonably good quality and a sensible filesize. I don't know of a site to find any. I make do, and make my own.

Here is one I made. This one was rather difficult to keep the filesize down to something that would work in s2u2.

Even so, it DOES work (I'm using it now).

what if you made a wall paper that looks like the inside of a tricked out alien communication device.

basically a mother board, mainly black and dark grey but still vivid.

with full color capacitors.maybe white ones

and a green processor chip that would match the anastasia task bar

Simple, Lightweight, Cool. :)

Counting up to 20 for Startup Counting Down from 10 for Shutdown

NB: To anyone trying these, I'm curious as to whether the Count up reaches the end at startup for you.

The original Omnia would stop the ani (at approx. 17) when it was ready to boot. My O2 Plays it through to the end.

s2u2 is Great! :) Most times I pick up the fone, s2u2's the screen I see. The device "wallpaper" is just a backdrop for icons etc.

As it happens, I do use some modified icons and other stuff in s2u2. I'll attach what I modified for my use here as a zip.

Just unzip them and copy them into the s2u2 folder overwriting the originals, (You may wish to backup the originals first).

Device\Program Files\s2u2\gfx.

I did not make some of the icons, they were manipulated out if some screenshots I harvested some time back, elsewhere on this forum.

Sorry I don't remember where, credits to the original artist (if you see your own work) Thankyou. ;)

And.. the Rotated TV wallpaper.gif :( Glad you enjoy it mate..!

I had an idea for a mobo-ish set not long back, (perhaps using images of inside the fone...). Still working on it. :)
