Guest clivec Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 Exciting !!! I can feel a beer coming on soon Paul  Still can't get my hat on about how good a deal this phone is!
Guest Simon O Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 [snip] Oooh, custom kernel coming?
Guest Paul Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 That was a copy-paste error but yes, i'm looking at doing a custom kernel. P
Guest Paul Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 A heads up... when I add 'cachedalvikcache' to this ROM, we'll immediately gain 33MB of space on /data. P
Guest Simon O Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 A heads up... when I add 'cachedalvikcache' to this ROM, we'll immediately gain 33MB of space on /data. P Fantastic. Are you going to add Darktremor A2SD to this then?
Guest Paul Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 I've not used DarkTremor's A2SD (or even seen it), but I will probably include my standard A2SD scripts when we get to kitchen status. cachedalvikcache is a no brainer tho. Basically it's a script I created which runs on startup and moves the /system/app dex files to /cache and symlinks. On this ROM they come in at ~33MB and the /cache partition is 40MB, so that'll work great. Instant 33MB saving on /data. P
Guest Simon O Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 That does sound good. What happens if the dalvik cache becomes bigger than 40MB? Oh any plans to change the market fingerprint to enable all apps?
Guest Paul Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 The only part of the dalvik cache that is moved to /cache is the /system/app portion, which will stay a consistent size. P
Guest Paul Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 Oh any plans to change the market fingerprint to enable all apps? I'd not noticed any missing apps! Simple enough to push over a Nexus One 2.1 fingerprint tho... P
Guest Simon O Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 The only part of the dalvik cache that is moved to /cache is the /system/app portion, which will stay a consistent size. P Ah yes, silly me. Just had a quick look at this rom. Two app folders, one called app.new with the same apps but different sizes. How come?
Guest Paul Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 I thought it was a bit larger than it should be! r2 uploading now (i'll drop in the Genie Widget too while i'm there!)... P
Guest Simon O Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 It's a good job I'm so nosey!

Guest Simon O Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 Good stuff can't wait to get drivers, for windows 7 to try this out. Well done Paul. Quick work!! No Win7 drivers at all??
Guest Modmedia Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010  No Win7 drivers at all?? Not that I can find. Running 64 bit though? Am I even more screwed when I get my mac back tomorrow? Lol
Guest toge64 Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 What orange guff did you remove Paul? Did you leave in Orange Wednesdays/
Guest Simon O Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 Not that I can find. Running 64 bit though? Am I even more screwed when I get my mac back tomorrow? Lol Ok do you fancy trying these out? http://flibblesan.co.uk/android/zte_driver.zip Quickly edited T-Mobile Pulse drivers. They seem to be pretty much standard Android but work with 64bit properly. You might have to manually install them.
